not sure if this topic have been covered or something but i searched already and saw that they were dicussed about how thick they should use

i have a metal gasket from Apexi and the size is 1.1 mm 87mm bore which is said on the box but it has a white number on the gasket next to the apexi logo "8811" is that mean 1.1mm 88mm bore? i'm really cofuse and when i tried to measure the bore with a MM ruler it seem to be 88mm.
is that okay to use this gasket with a stock block?
is there any effect about the performance or compression??
please help me

8811 may just be the part number

that gasket should be fine for stock bore. you could always call apexi and ask.....

in any case. a thicker head gasket will lower over all compression ratio in the cylinders. it'll take away a little torque/boost response, but it's safer for boosted applications because it lowers the chance of detonation and can compensate for glitches/imperfections in your tune.

basically it's a minimal loss, which is easily made up 20 fold elsewhere (ie boost/other power adders). typically nissan motor's with stock head gaskets i wouldn't recommend boosting more than 17psi on pump gas. with a metal headgasket you can have a little more peace of mind at 17psi....and a thicker than stock (which most multi-layer steel headgaskets are) head gasket you'd probably be fine going to 19-20psi......if you have a good tuner. i was running 20psi on pump and 22psi on 100 octane.

basically use the gasket and arp head studs cause stock head bolts stretch and you're not supposed to reuse them. arp studs you can re-use. retorque the arp's after 1500miles and you're done.
