Obviously I will be pulling this crap off again and what to do this the right right way lol.

I don't want to spend more than $550.00 on turbo. What turbo should I get and what kind of HP gains can I expect respectively.

I have no fuel pump but plan on getting one this weekend at the Greddy Garage sale.

get a used S15 GT28R. good for about 300 HP and spools well.

and DEFINATELY get a fuel pump before you upgrade your turbo.

edit: beat me to it ;)

You can get one used for around that price. But for a couple hundred more you can get a brand new one.

What kind of powerband are you looking for? An S15 Spec R T28 can definitely get you to 300HP and have great spool, transient response and midrange power.

Personally, I just got done putting a Pulsar GTiR T28 on my car, and I like it a lot. Transient response isn't as good as a ball-bearing turbo, but boost comes on still fairly early (by 3500) and when it hits, it hits pretty hard. Pulls hard all the way to redline without falling off. Roughly the same power potential as with an S15 turbo, and will usually be cheaper as well (depending on where you find them).

Also, they're journal bearing, meaning they can be rebuilt without too much hassle (or money). BEWARE, if you buy a used S15 T28, make damn sure you know it's good before you buy it. Because if it's blown, you may as well be buying a paperweight.

That's what I was thinking.

Also, if you have a stock T25, there are a few places you can send the turbo to be rebuilt as a Big T28. I'm not sure how the trim and power compares to the S15 T28, but it might be a safer avenue then picking up a suspect turbo over the internet.

Holset H1C off ebay with a 12cm exhaust housing from bulls eye. Good spool, good up top, sound awesome.
Also rebuild kits are cheap of ebay too and there are a lot of these around
