the car is not complete cause i need a exhaust... and i need to modify the stock fan shroud to fit with the AC canister thing...
it came with a blown turbo inlet gasket but a new one along with manifold gasket is on its way.
after that ill slap on the exhaust and see what difference itll be.
i hope it was worth it.
I would like to thank Chris for letting me use his shop and John with his Sr knowledge.
Bought the Clip and things from http://japaneseengineimport.com located in sterling...FYI
here is a video...

i sound retarded because this was hard and it was a big accomplishment...we both went into it blind at first
if you look at the video, that green blow by plug...haha after 10 mins i realized blocking that killed my idle...once we found some hoses off a jaguar it ran and idled perfect!

I was actually thinking of getting a small tow hitch for one of our subarus. I saw an ad for that exact trailer!
Awesome work. Swapping in an SR in a shop like that would have been great. Let's see some vids when you get it on the road.

How was it dealing with them. A friend of mine has quite a few dealings with Noyan, so I'm probably going through them for my clip, but I was just curious on how JEI was to deal with. Did you get a whole clip, or just the motorset? Anything missing? I checked their site, and the S13 listing said like, motor, trans, turbo, uncut harness. The S14 listing also listed the CAS, and the igniter... Strange. Price? Etc.

you dont need to modify the fan shroud. unbolt the canister and move it out of the way a bit. you'll need to put some force and carefully bend the lines.
oh, and thats a clean clip if i say so myself. they still have clean ones like that? lucked out!

thanks for the comments guys...
the breather for the cold pipe to the case breather was not connected...once we did that the car ran great.
im just waiting on the turbo inlet gasket.
ill get some video of it driving soon...
thanks
BTW im a huge subaru fan...
im amazed more of the trailer than the car pulling it...i had no doubts.
that trailer is from harbor freight...the 300 dollar one...lol

That's not a case breather that's your IACV. Looks like your PCV(case breather) system is hooked up. The green Plug you had was in your IACV tube. Why it couldn't idle.

i have a questions..
there is 2 vacum nipples on the inlet of the manifold
small and big one
i connected to the small one to the fuel regulator...
and the big one to the BOV
then the nipple from hot pipe to the wastegate...
does this sound correct?
this is what the car looks like on the outside btw....needs wheel spacers

Congrats, I'm in the same boat as you my friend although it looks like you were better off then me.
I bought a S13 Shell from a friend for $300 bucks, decided to do the SR20DET swap without any previous knowledge besides how to turn a wrench. My best friend on the other hand has done general mods to his 02 Maxima, as of right now we're 3/4 of the way done = )
Definatly excited, and again - congratulations.

Slightly off-topic, but if those are springs/shocks, what setup are running? I'm curious because I have AGX/Sportlines, and my 'vert has kind of a reverse rake going on. More gap in the front than the back. IMO, it looks bad, and I'm looking for a spring that'll give a better stance on the 'vert.

hey guys
heres an update...
finally drove it for the first time...more than 15 min.
i changed the turbo inlet and manifold gaskets...man what a PITA
but i checked the plugs after adding more oil (lost some from the turbo oil lines)
i have frosted flakes...running Lean.
do i need a fuel pump?
what temp should the hot pipe be?
could the ECU be flashed and not correct for my car?
should i add injector cleaner? i doubt it...
MAF malfunction?
leak in the intake past the MAF? i do have this nipple that has a hole in it but i dont think it goes through.
what should i look for and what can i do to fix this problem?
i havent checked boost yet and the car runs great...above the norm...its pulls hard and feels faster than other sr20s i took a seat in.
can ECUs alter boost? i didnt think so...???
could this be running higher boost which could cause the lean?
i have new vacuum lines, 300zx fuel filter, trust front mount, 3 inch downpipe, 3 inch exhaust, no play in the turbo, everything overall looks good....it runs great and idles great...maybe too good.
but its lean and thats a fact...i have no idea where to start.
kinda lost here

02-21-2008, 10:16 PM
Probably a fuel pump issue if any, or just the fact that the injectors got gunked up from the clip sitting for God knows how long. That's probably your problem, probably :p .
Awesome facility, do u live in NOVA? U should come to carlisle nicofest this year man. I finished my swap probably 5 weeks ago too so I know how you feel hehe. The bug has been planted. You'll soon want more everything.
BTW you have mail.
