I wired up my SAFC tonight using these types of connections, only difference I think is that a spade connection plugs into one side:

Problem is, if I bump, tap or wiggle most of the wires the AFC and/or the car shuts off.

Now, I used the ones just like the picture, I believe they were 16-18 gauge. Given the diameter of the ECU wires should I have used smaller connectors like those above, OR....what sort of connections would you recommend?

you dont want to use that man...although i have it on my car from the previous owner....i havent had any problem, though. Once I have time, I am gonna get all the wires soldered...
solering them is the best way man.

if u intend to tap at lease use T-TAPS(allows you to use male spades)

i hate thoese splices makes it unclean, also never liked how is

solder is the way to go

for ecu wires use RED 22-18

those are absolutely the worst way to do electrical connections. cut, strip, solder, heatshrink, wrap.

you dont plan to remove it do you?

I agree that the connectors you used are worthless.

But proper crimp will work just as good as soldering and is usually easier for people.
