Ive been told that my ECU is tuned for 550cc injectors.
Ive also been told that Sard 550's are a purple color.
Both ECU and injectors came with the swap.
Any one know a positive way to identify an injector, other
than color.

sard may bore out the stock 370's and make em into 550's just like deutchewerks bore out the ka's red 270's, then flow test em, and dremel numbers on the bottom side of where you plug your harness into them. so from looks they may appear to be stock, but internally be bigger. i've never used sard injectors, i go deutchewerk so i can't really say anything from experience. but check for dremel'd numbers in the bottom of the plug or just try em....*shrug
(i didn't see anyone else giving you any input so i figured i'd add my .02)

Thanks for the input. I'm not sure I want to take a chance on these being stock. The result may be undesireable.
BTW Nice 280, I always thought my next project might go somthing like that.

Hence my confusion...Rember these injectors are not new, they would have to be about 6-7 years old.
The pic above is from the SARD site, and is of a new 550cc inj.
Here is an email I recieved from a JUN Auto Rep, This was I was inquiring on what tune my ECU had. He was very Helpful.
Toshiyuki Takahashi to me
Dear Mr. RPS1392
The color of injector doesn't decide capability of injector.
Basically, the color is different by each maker.
Incidentally, the SARD 550cc injector for SR20DET (side feed,
high resistance) has purple coupler.
Thank you,
Toshiyuki Takahashi <

The point is I may never have seen a stock injector, so I can't compare the two.
From what Ive looked up online, the stock injector is more maroon than purple.

the stock 240sx's are red/maroon 270cc, the stock rb25/sr20/z32 tt injectors are purple 370cc, that sard one looks like a light ass purple.
did you see any engraving on ur injector? if not, i think urs is stock

Those are stock 370cc injectors for sure. Just a note, the picture above that the person claimed is a sard side feed is a top feed injector.
Also to know for sure the actual flow numbers of the injector, you would have to send them out to get them flow tested. I know deatchwerks does it. I think its 16 dollars or so per injector. If you are considering on using those injectors, you may want to consider getting them flow tested just for piece of mind. Im not sure what the situation is. Did you buy them from someone claiming they were 550cc injectors?

The ECU that came in the front cut I bought is tuned for 550cc injectors.

I would start to believe that they are stock, but clues lead me to belive that they can not be as old as the engine they came out of. The front cut I bought was a 1995 180sx. It had aprox 96,000 km milage. When I pulled this injector to check it out, the O-Rings are still soft, as if they were new. There is no buildup of any kind around the nozzle or around the screens. I guess that I could have them flow tested, but it would be a waste of money if they are stock.

this is why you have to be careful of the injectors you buy...

mine are sidefeed and look exactly like stock except with the light grey injector pigtail plug.
again i have 550cc sard sidefeed's.
does a stock sr pigtail plug in? if not i'd bet they are indeed sard.

They're not Deatschwerks, DW 550 side feeds are red. You can speculate all you want and hope nothing goes wrong but you're not going to tell anything if you don't flow test them. I would send them to DW for flow testing.
