How Can I Tell If i Have HICAS

Hi i'm doing a rear suspension build and was wondering, how do i tell if i have HICAS? I have a 95' s14 Base model. I figure chances are that i don't but if some one could shed some light on this it be great thanks.
P.S. I did search just didn't get a definate answer.

someone correct me if im wrong, im not too sure but wouldnt your speedometer have a HICAS light indicater?? and i thought HICAS only came on the models, late 89 and early 94??..

you can tell when there's wierd pumpy mechanisms on you rear suspension/drivetrain.

1. jack rear of car up
2. slide under rear of car
3. look for things that would allow your rear wheels to steer

Just look under the rear suspension, you'll have something that looks like a rack n pinion, plus your power steering pump is a lot bigger, and yeah your cluster should have a hicas indicator light

look at your power steering resevoir. If HICAS it should have wires coming out of the resevoir cap. (at least on the S13's it does, not sure about S14's)

S14's didn't come with HICAS. It was only S13 models.

YEA THE LATE 89 MODELS -94...I THINK THEY CHANGED TO ELECTRICAL IN 94 THOUGH NOT QUITE SURE..

This is absolutely sad as hell.

Some JDM model S14s had HICAS, very rare. Otherwise only the S13 chassis had it here in the US, and only on hatches, it wasn't offered on the coupe. And yes, all TT Zs had HICAS, the 90-93s used a hydraulic system, 94-96 used an electronic.

Anyone could have searched google for HICAS and found that without creating this horribly confusing, inaccurate thread that will undoubtedly come back up in a month with even more people spewing nonsense. Good job.

Question has been answered. Original poster, please do some searching before posting questions in the future. A quick search would have told you with out a doubt you don't have HICAS.
