Whats Better? nevermind the cost of it.
Anyone know the actual weight of both of these?
Unorthodox's website says 2 lbs I think
and ATI is 3.6 lbs total weight and 2.27 lbs for the inertia weight or something?

Correct me if Im wrong. Thanks

I would go with the ATI since it damps better than the factory unit. UOR is just a hunk of aluminum.

i thought the ATI dampner was engineered for extemely high hp applications. and i believe underdrive pulleys, when used on high high hp applications have an adverse affect? i really didn't make this up, someone back me up here!

In theory the less rotational mass the engine has to move the more power but in this case ATI ftmfw.... no question

High RPM applications. Keeps the crank from developing nasty harmonics and movements at high rpm. High HP can make these harmonics more violent and frequent, increasing wear. These are when you will notice the most benefits but, even stock street applications will show extended life from a improved Harmonic Damper.
Underdrive pulleys when used in low rpm applications can sometimes not move the water fast enough or keep the battery charged. It helps in High Rpm applications to reduce drag, keep the water pump from cavitation and reduce bearing and stator wear in the alternator. On the SR this can be accomplished with a underdrive water pump pulley.
Best solution is a ATI super damper and a underdrive water pump pulley. For street an ATI and a Greddy pulley kit.
And for the ballers:

more like 5.7
ps, i have two unorthodox crank pulley if anyone interested

so ATI is like almost 3 times the weight of the unorthodox one?
Isn't lighter better though?

I've been wondering about these... My friend say there bad for DD cars... I understand why now.

in some cases yes. but did you read the rest of the thread???
the fluid dampener helps keep crank vibrations to a minimum at higher rpms. even the most precisely balanced crank..will have vibrations at high rpms. the fluid dampener can help prolong the life of your engine, helping control vibrations and lessening bearing damage. granted you wont get the 5 extra hp as if you used an aluminum pulley, but personally, i'd much rather have that piece of mind-rather than an extra few ponies that i could get elsewhere.
when the time comes that i want to replace the stock pulley, i wont even look at anything else besides a fluid dampener....but thats just me, i care about my engine. ;)

When did I say they were bad? All I said is that you see less of a benefit on a DD.

S14DB, who manufactures those pulley's?

VERY trick pieces:)
EDIT: - nevermind. should've realized to look at the images origin address. naprec has some very nice parts there..
