February 14, 2008 - With X-Men Origins: Wolverine now under way in Australia, star-producer Hugh Jackman has taken time out to talk up the Fox/Marvel spin-off.

The plot will revolve around Logan's pre-X-Men years when he became involved with the shadowy Weapon X program. Jackman confirmed for USA Today that Sabretooth "is going to play a big part in it. And there will be a good bit of cameos."

Jackman added, "But you can't give too much away, because fans are pretty hard-core. Their expectations go up a level every time you come out with a new film."

The Aussie actor said that "with all the success of the X-Men, you feel the pressure to keep pushing it further." Most actors might ditch the role that made them a star, but not Jackman. "I became a fan of Wolverine like everyone else. That's why I keep holding on to the character."

I don't think the first one was all that.

They'll try to make the Wolverine film too dark and emotional and windup with nothing worthwhile. I am calling it right now- i have zero faith in Hollywood.

There is only one way to make a good comic book movie:

Less Joss Whedon or Brian K. Vaughn write it, direct it, and cast it.
Do not give executives final cut.

Not even gonna lie, this movie will suck, but will do its part entertaining the masses.

They're not going to really focus on his origins, because if they did, they'd find someone better. Jackman is good for 'old' wolverine, but i think since it's focusing on ORIGIN, they should use a younger actor.

His life didn't start during weapon x. IIRC, it was the 1800s? He's got super healing, which stuns his aging like crazy.

If it was me, i'd focus on his true origins. With the Family Creed.

The site adds that Michael C. Hall ("Dexter") is instead in talks for the role of Stryker and that they are eyeing Michelle Monaghan for Silver Fox. Leading up to the events of X-Men, "Wolverine" tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. February 15, 2008 - Although Michael C. Hall (Dexter) and Liev Schrieber (The Omen) had been rumored for the part, the role of the villainous William Stryker in X-Men Origins: Wolverine has reportedly gone to actor Danny Huston.

JoBlo.com reports that Huston will play the younger version of the military scientist played in X2: X-Men United by Brian Cox, and that he's already in New Zealand preparing for the role. Stryker is the brains behind the Weapon X program that turned Logan into the adamantium-laced Wolverine.

Huston was most recently seen as the lead vampire in 30 Days of Night. His other credits include Children of Men, The Number 23, The Proposition, and The Kingdom. He'll next be seen as "Sam Adams" in the HBO miniseries John Adams.

They should make another Wolvie movie. Focus on his powers, and how it changes him and his outlook. Kick in his super healing powers a notch, make him a younger-looking, brash asshole of an adult, and showcase him in his true nature, destroying the shit outta everything with a smile.

LOST and LORD OF THE RINGS actor Dominic Monaghan has joined the cast of director Gavin Hood's X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE movie. He joins the cast, lead by X-MEN's Hugh Jackman who returns to the role he played in the three X movies.

Variety reports that Monaghan will play Barnell, a mysterious character from Wolverine's past who has the ability to manipulate energy and electricity. Henney will portray Agent Zero, a member of the Weapon X program and an expert tracker with lethal marksman skills.

good parts, were when Wolverine got hit in the head with bullets and kinda grimaced, then rolled neck. that was badass. And all the moments you thought Wolverine was pissed and gonna fuck up everything in sight....that was exciting, but then he didn't.

Depending on which theater the movie was shown in, one of three possible endings then appear following the credits.

The first only depicts Weapon XI's hand reaching out from the rubble of the nuclear complex to touch his severed head, whereupon the head comes to life and makes a brief hushing sound before the scene fades to black; breaking the fourth wall like the Deadpool comics.

The second alternate ending shows Weapon XI going to grab his head, similar to the first ending, but then a man in a black coat steps on the arm, stopping Weapon XI, and picks up the head. The camera then turns around and it is Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) who then asks "What the hell are you supposed to be?"

The third alternate scene shows Wolverine drinking at a bar in Japan. The female bartender asks if he is drinking to forget; Wolverine replies that he's drinking to remember.

It's going to be Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor trying to stop Hulk, who will eventually join the Avengers. This is what I've been reading from the writers and directors.

Iron man II is set for next year.

The 2011 will be Thor and The First Avenger: Captain America.

Then Avengers in 2012.

Seems like so far away but it gives me something to look forward too.

I thought the movie was pretty wack.

The whole Wolverine and sabertooth being brothers thing is GAY, i know they alluded to it in the comics and all, and if they would have made it kind of a surprise at the end i could have delt with it... but makin them know they are brothers from the get go is wack.

Wolverine using his bone claws after killing his dad is gay. especially when viktor steps on em.... so stupid.

From Origins (the comic), it stayed FAIRLY true. they are not blood brothers, it IS implied they might have some kind of relation. Sabertooth is Victor Creed, but in the past, was supposed to be Dog, the son the the groundskeeper. Because James/Logan was brought up so well-to-do, Dog has always hated him with a passion. For Logan killing Groundskeeper, Dog pretty much decimates everyone Logan loves.

lemme doublecheck. I THINK the groundskeeper's name was dog, and was used by either Logan or victor.

Anyways, they have always harbored a incredible hate for each other. As soon as they smell one another, they become really feral, and want to kill.

In that part of the story arc, Sabertooth is revealed to tell Logan that to shake him up, and really make his sense of reality tear.

The thing with Logan's healing too, is that the greater his health regeneration, ie, legs dismembered, head ripped off, blown to bits, the greater his memory fails. It blocks pain receptors and forces him to forget pain AND past. He will never have a full understanding of who he is unless his powers are stopped, and doing so will kill him (anti-aging is a factor too)
