I posted before about carbon interior. I found another product called MAGICAL CARBON. It's used like a vinyl overlay, but it's supposedly REAL carbon fiber. There is a video post on YOUTUBE, and it is also sold at MORE-JAPAN.COM. You can by different sized sheets and pre-cut pieces. I'm not sure, but I think you might be able to ad some clear coating to gloss it up.
Please let me know if anyone has used this product, and your opinions.:aw:

"Oooh look. I have a REAL carbon fiber interior!"
"Really? So you had the interior MADE from CF?"
"No. But I did cover everything with CF stickers to make it look cool!"
"Wow, That's great. I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night."

Well, they don't make too many CF interior parts for S13s, and most people don't know how to actually overlay carbon cloth over existing parts. This just makes it a little easier. You also don't really need full carbon interior center consoles for a lighter car, just for the look. It seems better than doing imitation carbon pattern vinyl. :wackit:
If anyone has pics please share. I am interested in seeing some results.

makes it a little easier to what? be a ricer?
if you want a lighter car, gut it or replace parts with lighter parts.
if you want a car that LOOKS like its lighter, replace your nitrous bottle with a helium bottle.
plus, cars with carbon fiber stickers over everything are very obviously just cars with CF stickers, not real carbon.

nah, if done right, you cant tell the difference
it looks like raw non gelcoated CF
i did it jsut to see waht it woudl look like, i didnt like it as much as i thought it would. and it is hard to form soemtimes.
I mean, if you want the look of CF, cool. go for it. not everyone wants to be super diper 2000ls light

when compared to actually getting interior pieces molded for carbon fiber production, its very cost effective but i dont see it lasting very long on the outside of the car like the molding they did in the video.

There are some better looking samples on there, but it's still a pretty lame idea.

O K A Y Maybe some pics of interior parts done with a little more patience and care, not of someones half ass job. ONLY INTERIOR. I'm not planning on doing an overlay process with carbon cloth anytime soon or plan on getting custom interior parts made of carbon that cost an arm and a leg, or stupid vinyl.

We used to have carbon overlay in our prelude, it looked pretty nice. Previous owner said it cost like $400 or something like that. It came with the car, so yeah. I saw it on a MKIV supra once and it was supa fressshh. Ill try to dig up the pic.

i bought a roll of cf fabric off ebay. it was 16in x 16ft for 25 bucks. then went to hobby lobby and bought the resin for 25 bucks. i started out molding parts for my old kz1000. it was a real challenge and didnt turn out like id hoped so i trashed them. oh well. i gained some knowledge/ experience and hopefully i will get good enough to make stuff that looks good enough to me to put on my car/interior. imo on some stuff cf looks better than stock and stock looks better than fake cf. ive never seen the cf overlay stuff look decent.

^^^ that exhaust looked pretty badass in the pics, nice job
I wouldn't waste my money on it personally
to me it defeats the whole purpose of carbon fiber

This would be great for show car folks that like to waste money on shit.
Unfortunately this isn't a show car kinda site really.
The lip thing Grant mentioned might be one exception. Just for the rigidity factor.

I lol'ed at work. LOOOOOOL I've GOT to use that one in a convo in real life.
Anyway, I say go for it if you like it and it flows well. Now, I wouldn't cover a shitload of stuff with it, but do what you like/want to.
I personally wouldn't use it though.
