since it seems the first thing everyone cleans, paints, or looks at in the engine bay is the valve cover, i thought a thread showcasing everyones valvecovers would be great.
i am debating what i want to do with mine right now, so being exposed to others choices would be great.
please also list if you used high temp paint, powdercoat, anodization, etc for your medium.

Thats looks really clean. What colors did you use and is that powdercoated?

no its not powdercoated. its just a long time sanding and making it smooth. i used duplicolor platinum, and the duplicolor gunmetal wheel paint. with duplicolor wheel clear. it seems like it will hold up fairly well.

A pic of my old KA-T set up. The valve cover was painted with Red high temp engine paint, I then sanded the paint off the letters, then clear coated. The cover held up very well. I no longer have the KA-T set up. Im in the process of doing a SR swap. The SR valve cover is powder coated candy blue.

Thanks DeSantes! I used Armour Coat fluorescent pink first. Then went over it lightly with the same stuff in white. Its basically super cheap all purpose spray paint. I can't remember exactly what brand of clearcoat I used, but it was reflective. Something similar to Krylon reflect-a-lite.

What was the Base coat on this? was this a base/clear w/flake/tinted clear? I have done this in Powder coat, never with paint. I think i am going to try one with paint.

as far as the glow in the dark paint, look into a company called montana. They're a company based out of spain, mainly producing paint for graffiti artist. (i deny everything.)

Really great quality paint and not too much more than a can of high temp.

Not high temp. It's a LOT better looking than the High Temp Gold Engine Enamel. It makes that look bronze. I buddy of mine used it and now he's gonna redo it like mine. LOL It's the bright gold chromish looking paint. 3 coats of primer, 4 coats of paint, 3 coats of clear, sand the letters, 3 more coats of clear.

I do the powdercoating myself. Before spraying the powder, when I prep the cover I polish whatever is going to be masked off. Than when I spray on the powder I wipe off the areas that are not suppose to have powder on. Much easier to mask on powdercoating than spray paint.

here is a pic of mine when it was on my built motor. it now currently sits on a stock longblock, and has been in and out of the car enough times that its gotten pretty scratched up, not too mention it was painted about 3 years ago, but surprisingly it still looks dang good and is super shiny. I want to get it powdercoated the same color though, eventually, so it will be a little harder to scratch and have a more even color throughout.

Looks like crap in person, I did it with Krylon. I don't really care. I can touch it up whenever.

UPDATE:

I did a lot of wrenching to get the motor running and it messed up the paint. So I invited a bunch of people over and gave everyone a can. Its all good though I got extras I'm working on.
