how do people run an oil relocation kit and an oil cooler???
i know theres a sandwich plate for the relocation and another for a cooler?
is there a plate with four outlets? instead of two..?
wondering because im planning on doing both.
and are the oil filter sizes the same on s13 sr20det's and ka24de's?

no the oil filters are not the same. There is a giant thread on sr20 faq. For sr engines you use a SER sentra oil filter.

where does that solid block with the 2 in/ 2 out go??
that the oil thermostat? It goes from the filter through the thermostat, works just like a coolant thermostat, once the oil heats up enough the thermstat opens.

so tomei block to thermastat to cooler.. and then just run a relocation kit for the filter???
nope, unless you only want your oil filtered once its up to operating temp LOLz
Do it this way.
Tomei to relocation to thermostat to cooler back to thermostat back to Tomei block
In additon to that, make sure you got the in/out right on the block. relocation, and thermostat. otherwise you might run it dry.

not to scale.:bigok:
aaaaaaaaalmost
Filter relocation is just one piece. The Tomei block goes instead of the thread on oil filter part.
If you look in the pics above (kilgers)
Tomei block, to filter, to thermo to cooler, to thermo, to tomei
running -8or-10 lines.
Edit.
here it is, from Tomei website
Oil block installed

Oil filter relocation kit with cooler (no thermo, just like my setup)

hope that clears it up

Why does it need to pass back through the thermo after going through the cooler? Why can't it go from cooler -> engine?

Does Tomei make a block for the RB25?
edit: Khilgers, get rid of that Fram filter STAT!

it was just 1 had laying around the house. I won't be using it once I install my setup.

because there is only 1 return fitting.

i bought this relocation kit:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/REMOTE-Oil-Filter-Mount-Oil-Filter-RELOCATION-KIT_W0QQitemZ330209162747QQihZ014QQcategoryZ46095Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
and i used the oil cooler from a 2nd gen RX7. (it has a built in thermostat as well)
i have a set of 1/2" braided lines and fittings that i have for sale that will work with that kit and an rx7 cooler if your interested.

do they make a block adapter with a thermo already in it? i know greddy makes one, but it's only a sandwich adapter, which doesn't relocate the filter. here's the greddy one at 240sxmotoring: http://240sxmotoring.com/groilcoadw.html. It would just save a lot of money not to have to buy an inline thermo plus all the extra fittings & lines needed to run in & out of it.

I have not seen a block off with thermo. However I am pretty sure greddy also makes the filter relocation adapter with built in thermo. Dousan (IIRC) had one for sale on here a while back.

did your fittings for the oil relocation bracket the one from summit not fit in all the way? cause i got the same one with earls 1/2'' fitting and they're too long.

Rememebr NPT is tapered thread, so you souldn't /wouldn't want to bottom out the threads.

so what you're saying is thats normal? Because thats the amount mine stick out and i cant tighten it more and i dont want to force it.
I highly recommend either a built in thermostat to the oil cooler itself or an external one. you can still run without a thermostat but thats like taking the chance when you bounce your sr off the red line with no RAS!!
Once oil reaches a good opp temp the thermostat opens up and allows oil to circulate through the cooler. When the oil is not warm enough it simply bypasses the cooler and shoots back to the block and circulates as a normal set up would until it warms up to pass through the entire oil cooling system.
Thermostats are good in that there is no forcing the cold thick oil through very small bars on the cooler.
I have an oil cooler with a built in thermostat here is my set up
hope these pics help

Its a good idea if you do this set up to have the feed and return lines a different colors or marked ( makes it quicker to source potential problems, and with a spagetti of hoses to know wich line does what.
on my set up the grey is the out to filter from engine, short blue from filter to cooler thermostat, long blue back to engine from cooler.
hope that helps

Actually it will be like that regardless. since the Oil Pressure on the SR is high enough to bypass the filter element until its warmed up and at idle.
you can still run without a thermostat but thats like taking the chance when you bounce your sr off the red line with no RAS!!
Uhhh...
No Thermostat is fine on a Track car.
Just as no RAS is fine if not better.
like i said , its still fine without but with is better
the best builds are built with preventative and lasting in mind. !
