well, as we all know, the stock popup headlights are effing huge and are not attractive at all... so i was thinking i need to replace them somehow. first i was thinking about the silvia conversion, but i still like the stock 240 front end plus i don't have that much cash to blow. maybe east bear headlights, but those are kinda steep too.. and then i saw these PIAA tri-beam lamps, and i think they'd fit where the sealed beams are right now... they're 5 7/8" wide, i didn't measure the popups yet. they're about 320 bucks. with a pivot controller, they'd only pop up like 3". here's a link:

They look like nice lights, but I don't think you will be happy with the light output compared to stock. Unfortuantly the larger the reflector the more light output in general. So the stock lights have that going for them. Many people have installed smaller lights and made the pop-ups come up less, but the light output has always been less (that I am aware of) if you aren't as concerned with light output (seeing the road at night) then go for it, it looks like a cool plan. You could also remove the popup cover and install them in place of it, kinda looks like the Z32. If you want to get better light output, then the Hella euro-spec H4 housings are the way to go.

clearcorners.com makes a light conversion of this nature that greatly improves lighting. However, Mike requires that you deliver the car to him and have him perform the modification and adjustment, so it's a bit steep if you just want the look.
I thought of doing this years ago but with the Piaa 90's I think, but they are more designed for a Fog light and they are like 400$ so I never did it. These look alright. Mounting these shoulnt be a problem you will just have to make a custom mount of some sort. Isnt there a way to make your headlight lazy eye without the Pivot headlight adjuster?
