600s normal price. but you SHOULD have your head machined if you blew the gasket from overheating it

im not exactly sure where a good machine shop is .. you would have to ask around. i know theres one in old torrance that my work takes it to but not sure where exactly it is.

the price depends on what you want done. (cause they do valve guides at the same time, etc)

Take it to Ali's machine shop in signal hill. They do good machine work for a killer price. I think a resurface is $20 or less.

that sounds like a heck of a deal

Yeah, a head resurface is always cheap. I've never seen that work cost more than 50 bucks per head (for those with V6 or v8s).

Its not hard, really. You just have to be patient and make sure you torque everything down properly. The trickiest part is reconnecting everything when you're done.

I just spent this past Sat helping (learning) a friend do a stock rebuild on a DE. Said he paid $35 to deck and hone the block at a shop in Torrence.

i don't have the block taken out, i'm planning to do the whole thing w/ the engine in the car. so $20 for ali's machine shop... as soon as i get them offset wrenches in to take the intake manifold off...
