I have a 97 J30 VLSD that I need to install SOON. The problem has been that it is missing one of the bushings that mounts it to the car (# 19).. Nissan can't sell me this part, it only comes with something else that I don't need. Anyway, NISMO sells this part, and I can buy it from Courtesy Nissan.
But...
How do I remove the existing bushing, and then install the two needed ones? You can't just PUSH it out... At least, not without a LOT of force. so, I've heard it may need to be PRESSED in and out of place. Anyone know if there is a tool I can buy to do it myself? Can Nissan do it? I don't REALLY want to lug this greasy, 80 lb carrier around... especially not inside my car, so if there's a better way... please lemme know. =) Thanks!!!

I'm Gumby Dambit! Ehh...I think we're gonna have to find a bushing press tool dude...Plus I think we might have a problem...check it:
"J30 Diff
The Infinity J30 uses an ABS sensor that attaches to the input of the diff. If you have an ABS equipped 240, this will be the same sensor ring. This sensor ring requires that you have a drive shaft that is approximately .55" shorter than the non-ABS counterpart. If you do not have ABS, you will have two options. First, you can buy the ABS driveshaft. Second you can buy the non-abs diff input. This information was provided by Bill Redding, also a 240SX chat list subscriber.
As always, I'm more than happy to offer help. Email me with any questions or comments regarding this write-up.

Ahhh...but then again...read here:
http://www.240sx.org/links/installs/lsd2/
Says the '95+ J30 diff doesn't need any mods, although the driveshaft may need shortened an inch due to the ABS sensor thingy...Paul says that that fact isn't confirmed and his friend has no problems with the setup, so we might be aiight....WHEW! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/notify.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':notify:'>
