im going to be purchasing an sr20det for my s14 in about 2 months. and im going to need advice on places to install and parts needed. im buying a red top s13 to put in my 95 240sx. yeah yeah yeah i know i should get the black top but i cant afford it because im juggling this with college expenses. plus my clutch is about to go and id rather spend the 300 bux + labor to get an sr20 instead. i live in the san francisco bay area. any advice would be helpful ...thanks

Research. Lots of it. Check the archives here and on Freshalloy.com

There's nothing that hasn't been already discussed on this topic.

My advice: Unless your planning to build spend the extra 300 or so to get a blacktop. With a redtop the newest motor you get will be ~10 years old.

Yo, are you going to put the motor in your self or have someone do it for you? If you know anything about pulling motors or know someone who does, this motor is straight up drop in. You can also send your wiring harness to heavythrottle.com and they can wire your harness up so everything plugs right in. The wiring service is for a charge, I think like $100 to $200 at the most. If you are planning on keeping your A/C, plan on some custom lines being made. That's the sacrifice you might have to make. And dont take chances on using the clutch that comes with the engine. Most times the clutch may be worn, so get a good clutch. Reccommend either a street clutch or a 6 puck of some sort.

Good Luck
