hey i just suddenly have an idea. I just bought a set of pbm coilover from bziggers13. I paid, and he gave me a tracking number via usps yesterday. He said the tracking number wont have any info until the usps picks up the item. so yesterday I emailed him by the end of the day, he replied me and he said oh...it should be picked up by this time so he called his wife to ask about it. and his wife said she wasnt home during that time.
so he said he will get it shipped out today. but until now, i still havent heard anything from him, and the tracking number still doesnt work. so i started to get worried since I had one bad experience last time.
I paid him via paypal by my credit card. Do you guys think I am safe? or what should i do now? should I file a dispute now? or what should i do? if anything bad happens which i hope not, do you think I can get my money 100% back since I paid by credit card on paypal??

Everything he said sounds legit - UPS gives you a tracking number before they pick it up, but until it hits the first distribution hub, there's nothing to report.
Wait till next week. Then start calling/tracking/etc.
And yes, worst case scenario, you report him to paypal, and if they don't credit the money back, you report the whole thing to your credit card company.
I consider buying things on Zilvia VERY safe.

I do alot of shipping via USPS and sometimes FEDEX for the big stuff, I've had situattions were the tracking number never updated (USPS) until it was delivered to the home and others it updated the same day or next day saying it was recieved by USPS so I wouldn't stress over it to much, also when you buy/print your own labels from home it gives you a date in which you must/should deliever that package to the post office also to. It also depends weather he shiped Priority vs Parcel the later takes considerable longer for the person to get there package.

I've waited longer than that to succesfully receive parts, so I wouldn't freak out just yet.
But worst case scenario is you call your CC company and they 'quarantine' the payment until the matter is resolved - so you don't have to pay it until you receive the part.

You know what, your being kinda retarded about this. You just paid the guy! He just told you they were going to be shipped that day or the day after and your already freaking out about it. You seriously need to relax about this stuff or not buy things this way. As you seem to have a serious trust issue.
This is not the first time you have freaked out about something shipped to you and the person was trying to work with you. Though you made it impossible for them to work with you. I see a pattern here on your part and I would seller beware of you.
It seems like you don't give sellers a chance to have a life or breath till your happy.
It works like this, you paypal a seller , now paypal can be your insurance so you don't freak. You give the seller time to ship to you. Sometimes stuff does not ship immediately or gets held up because the seller actually has a life beyond selling you the parts you want for dirt cheap. Now just because the seller misses a day or two of emails or is not on the forum does not mean he is ignoring you. As long as he responds within a couple of days everything is cool.
To many people here, sit around talking about how there going to pay you for a product and take there time. Then the minute they pay you, they expect the item instantanously.
I am not saying you do this but people here need to learn a little patience before freaking out about shit being shipped or if they are getting screwed.
I am not saying there are not deals that don't go right or less than honorable sellers . Its the same with buyers though! There are unreasonable buyers who play games.
You have acted like that in the past based on your previous posts about transactions.
I would say your headed down the same road right now with this seller by the initial post you made above. In a word your freaking and not giving the seller a fair chance to transact your deal properly.
P.S. Don't get all butthurt about my comments as you posted asking for comments and opinions.

This just happened to me I droped off a package Jan 16th at USPS.
The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on January 16, 2008 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.
After again calling USPS to get info for my buyer they still coudln't tell me anything mainly becasue today is saturday but I just recieved a email from my buyer letting me know that he just recieved the package today, so there you go, just confrims what this poster said.
P.S. BTW this has happened to me on more than ~10 occassions out of 200+ but I have yet to have one lost package (knock on wood).

Please give the seller a reasonable amount of time to get the items shipped. Typically we all have day jobs (or night ones) and it can take us a day or two (damnit guys I will send out your models soon!) to get the items packed up and shipped. If you haven't heard anything in a week or two then post up a review about him in the reviews section.
If you paid via pay pal you should be safe. We try to keep all scammers/disreputable buyers and sellers out of our marketplace.

When buying from a private seller you gotta allow some extra time. It's not like buying from a business that ships stuff out everyday. Private sellers usually have regular jobs and have to find time to get stuff dropped off at where ever they are using to ship while they are still open. You just gotta be patient and understand that sometimes stuff comes up where they can't get it shipped for a couple days.

doesnt paypal only protect transactions that were through ebay? (ya know..that whole ebay owning paypal thing..)

No, paypal doesn't just protect purchases off ebay, it protects everything. Really though, I consider paypal's recovery system to be useless. They can never recover my funds. Unless you are buying something from a store or someone you absolutly trust, use your credit card through paypal instead of a bank account. That way you have insurance. Im actually in the process of recovering my funds through my creditcard company from some stupid company thats fucking me over (imperialautoshop)
To the orginal poster of this..CHILL OUT! Give the guy some time here. There is absolutley no reason to be freaking out at this point. Maybe if it was a week with no response, then you can worry. I was looking at those coils too and was going to buy them (change of plans) and the seller seemed completely legit when I was in contact with him. I wouldn't be worrying.
You're overreacting. All signs poing to his being legit. You've only given him a few days to ship, and UPS really does issue tracking numbers before it signs off in their system. I'd say that he's not a bad seller, but rather you're a bad buyer.
Simply starting a thread with the other guy's name in it and negative comments could cause him problems in future transactions for no other reason than the fact that you're being too quick to complain.

well....the latest update here.
Bziggers13 refused to reply my email and the phone is ALWAYS OFF!!! I decided to file a dispute on paypal 2 days ago. And until now he has not replied anything yet. The USPS tracking number does not work still. I just called my credit car company, but somehow they said they cannot do anything because this is not an unauthorized transaction. I am just wondering about people's experiences. How to get the money back???

Dude, it's been a week, relax.
I dunno about your particular C.C., but try again in a couple weeks. Maybe then they'll accept.

Its only been a few days. Sometimes I ship stuff everyday, other times I am so caught up it might take more than a week.
In the future, if you are this gunshy about buying online, offer the seller more money to ship fedex, as they have the fastest updating tracking system.

If you think youre getting fucked with, dont bother going thru paypal...go call your credit card company. Most of the time, credit card company that you used to pay for the transanction, even when you used paypal, can recover your money. For this one reason alone, I DONT EVER SEND MONEY USING THE BANK WIRE OPTION in PAYPAL!!! Pay for it using your credit card...

I think it has to do with the fact that it is a check card. Doesn't sound like it is a normal credit card. You should get a regular credit card if what I am understanding is correct.
This is one of the reasons why I stopped buying from private sellers that are not local
I have also has bad transactions with vendors such as enjuku and others.

Anyone that would send $750+ via paypal etc to someone they never met and didn't know where the person lived is retarded in my opinion. If you are going to send that much to someone I would hope it would be to a legit business or someone you know/trusted. Just my 2 cents

Then that means your bank sucks. I have USAA, I called them up and told them my situation. I put a deposit for some GP-sport bodykit and the company gave me the run around for almost 3 months. I found out the company was filling for bankruptcy, called my bank and told them my situation. They immediately transferred me to their creditcard rep for mastercard. They told me to type up a letter of the situation and 2 days after I faxed them the letter, I got my $1200 back in my account.

Honestly, it gotten so bad in here sometimes. Your best bet is buy only from reputable members in here, thats the reason we have the seller review page. People just need to contribute more into it so we can weed out the bad sellers from the good ones. Personally, I would not buy people from I cant trust and cant have somebody knocking on their door to collect my shiet back for me.
