I picked up a ka24de to use for me ka-t. i took off the header, and looked in at the vlaves on the exhaust side. There is some oil buildup covering them which i would imagine would not make for a good seal, and means it would probably smoke when running. My question is, is there any way to clean out that oil build up before i install the motor? would sea foaming clean that out after i install the motor? I heard not to use that stuff on boosted motors tho. i just dont want to have to replace the head on the motor, so i just want to find a way to clean out all that oil buildup in there which i know there has to be a way. I just want to make sure i dont fuck anything up trying to clean it out so thats why i'm asking for you fellow zilvians to help me out. Thanks ahead of time.

SeaFoam will work just fine on a boosted motor. I have used it many times.
If you really want to clean it out with the motor out of the car, it would be best to pull off the head. Its not that hard, then you can take a look at the rest of the motor and all that. There might be a way to clean it like that but I do not know how.

How do you reccomend to use the seafoam? I have heard a couple different ways but i want to do it the right way so i dont fuck anything up. I just wanted to clean it out while the motor is out of the car cuz i thought that would be easier but maybe it wont be. I didnt really want to pull the head because i have never done that before and i would probably screw something up lol. Do you thin i should just put the motor back in the car and hook everything back up get it running and all that and then do the seafoam. Would that clean out the valves?

The seafoam will help remove carbon build up. There will be some oil on the valves, they are moving parts and need lubrication.

I guess I have done seafoam VIA the brake booster line, IIACV. You can do it how ever it gets into the Intake system. I guess it all depends on how your setup is done.

seafoam is fine for my sr20 i used it in the brake booster line and gas tank. helped me idle a bit better. if you really want it cleaned out you gotta take off the head since the fact if you use seafoam you cant really see how clean it is until you look at the valves after you use it.

To the OP: seafoam should not be used in the crankcase for boosted motors. sucking it into the intake and running it in the gas tank is fine.

You can buy it at any auto store. Remove your brake booster vacuum line while it is running and slowly pour it in the line, keep pouring it, the motor will shudder a little bit. When it is empty, turn the car off and let it sit for a few minutes and start it back up.
