Hi, i picked up a auto RB25 series II motor for cheap. However, it doesnt come with the harness and ECU. To my understanding, the series II doesnt have an ignitor chip and its internally bebuild in in the ECU. What i wonder is If i can use a Series I harness and Series I ECU? It is very hard to find a series 2 ECU, so I wonder if i can use a series I harness and run an external ignitor chip. Any input will be Great.

You have a few things mixed up here. The Series 2 RB25 has a ignitor chip built into the coilpacks not the ECU. People have used Series 1 ECUs on Series 2 motors without any problems. So you should be fine running a Series 1 harness and a Series 2 ECU.

Oh..thanks for the info. is it possible to use a series I harness with a series I ECU?? Is there any problem using a Manual ECU because the engine is from an auto laurel.

?

Do you mean a series 2 harness with series 1 ecu? If it works one way it should work the other way.

Engine harness should be the same, you need to worry about the transmission harness.
