Well considering that it is "universal" it probably won't fit and definitely won't fit right. The authentic rear cross bars make a HUGE difference from what I have heard, but I have never seen one for s-13. Don't buy it unless you have the capability to MAKE it fit, which will probably include cutting and welding.

And if you notice the hump on the do-luck one is much higher than the generic one. It almost definitely won't fit. I have seen a TON of those bars on s-14's, but none on s-13's. I guess us s-13 owners are either cheap asses or broke asses! LOL

Someone should knock the do luck one off and sell it for a third of the price, I know people would buy it.

Seriously! That shit is fuckin expensive! If someone sold a knock-off that actually fit right I would buy it.

Custom fab > mass produced, always! As long as the fabricator knows what the hell they are doing of course.

They do make a generic one. It's been on Ebay for nearly a year now from a few sellers. It's a direct copy of the DoLuck RXB, I've installed a couple of them. The end plates are slightly different but it fits fine, the supplied hardware is trash but anything copied will be, just get better hardware. They were selling for like $119-149, don't know where they're at now. I don't browse Ebay enough to keep up with what's out. It fits S13 and S14 since it's adjustable.
The one above is a copy of the old Arospeed bar for FWD cars, I've seen it in person as well, it's not near tall enough to fit a RWD car with a proper tunnel and the end plates are ABS plastic, so the actual tension is placed solely on the bar itself, which is worth nothing.

Can probably make something similar for a lot less than $200.

The first thing that made me arch an eyebrow is how it can be a strut bar, without being anywhere near the strut towers?
But it looks like a pretty nifty idea, if you can spare the room. A universal piece would probably be much more inconvenient than a custom fitted one though.

does anyone know where you can buy links for strut bars?

yea i've personally seen one of those ebay junkers, tried to put it in a friends S13 and it wasnt even CLOSE! hump was less than 1/2 of what it needed to clear, ended up just selling it to a honda fag......
On the same topic, does anyone think that if you had a roll bar that the do luck bar could do any good? or would that be a waste of money/added weight

sell it for a third of the price...ya it helps everyone else, but then it is not worth the material cost and labor. make it yourself
change it up, dont get sued by do luck.
mild steel plates, choose your diameter tube, hossfeld or manual tube bender(cheap) and find some kid taking welding classes to weld them for you cheap. then you can sell them for cheap.
yes cheap, poor quality, just looks good. and a lot things are bought for looks. :naughty:

you can even see that the tube is bolted to the mounting plates, as the chassis flexes i doubt that would do much of anything.

^^^ You should weld that shit though rather than bolting it together! Other than that it looks pretty good, definitely a good idea.

The mounting plates you would have to custom make yourself. As for the links, just use some cheap-ass rod ends. Use a left hand thread on one end and a right hand thread on the other end so that you can tension the bar.

Do you mean roll BAR ot roll CAGE? There is a difference! If it is just a simple 4-point roll bar then it will probably make a difference, but if you have a 6-point or more cage then the difference will be minimal. When I build my cage I plan to have a bar similar to that as part of the cage. Mine will be a one-off custom cage though, not some pre-fabbed weld in or, even worse, bolt in piece of crap. Most cages that you buy pre-made are nothing more than glorified chasis braces.

I talked to a couple of friends about the Do-Luck bar replica, and they're both down, so I'm gonna see if there's any real interest in this, and if there is, we're gonna go ahead and make some, and I can set up a group buy or something.
We're basically going to look at Do-Luck's design, and re-design it. Well, more like making some slight adjustments to the design to hopefully improve it.
1 of the guys involved in this is an engineer, and owns an S14, so he knows all about the torsional twists and deformation and stuff like that. He actually told me the URAS bar isn't as good of a design as the Do-Luck bar because it will not stand up against torsional twists as well as the Do-Luck bar.
So yeah, I'll let you guys know what's up. Might even have something mocked up by this weekend.

I've seen these bars on a few cars.
There is a company here called Top Speed; they make a version of the floor bar.

The ladder bars are copies of DoLuck pieces also, they fit fine and are cheap, which is nice. The floor bars pictured above are also a copy, but they're mild steel, not too sturdy. I have the DoLuck aluminum bars on my car, bought them over six years ago through Raretrick, they're much more solid and come with quality hardware. The ones above I've installed and althought the fit fine, the welds were ugly, the finish was horrible, and the hardware was again shit. But for $99, you'd expect some corners cut.
