I took my car today to have aamco Bleed the clutch since they didn't do it completly last time I took it there. I didn't really care cause it was free.
Well took it today and they bled the clutch for me. I get back in the car and the clutch has no free play in it and is of course catching at the very top of the pedal!!! So I gave them the benefit of the doubt and took it for a test drive. I got on Briley Parkway towards opryland. I get on the off ramp. First gear no problem takes off fine. I started to feel better. Hit Second gear. Clutch started to slip. I was getting pretty pissed but I kept going. Hit 3rd gear, Clutch slipped like crazy. I completely got off of it then and started to baby it. I got on the interstate to go back to aamco and got caught in traffic. I sat there just moving enough in traffic that I had to press in the clutch so the car wouldn't die. (about 1 or 2 mph maybe less). So then the clutch started getting really bad. It would slip into 2nd at 5mph! (Keep in mind I've had this clutch for 1 week. and babied it for the first 500 miles to break it in.) Anyway I take it back there and they adjusted it and it seems to be fine now. It just really pisses me off they sent me out there without even adjusting the clutch after bleeding it.
Or with my luck the guy decided I was just a stupid kid that didn't know what a slipping clutch was and decided to do that so I would burn it out faster and have to buy a new clutch.
Anyway, all this just really pissed me off. My dad thinks I should go back and tell them I want another clutch since this one has slipped and been worn down from this incident. I almost feel like I should because 99% of clutches don't have any wear on them within the first week. (Unless you go dropping the clutch everywhere.) Right?
What do you think I should do?
A. Pretend it never slipped cause it didn't do enough damage to do anything.
B. Have them give me a new clutch cause it took off X amount of miles on the clutch for nothing??
