let me preface this by saying i hate routers. they are the biggest pain in the ass.
i used to be able to play call of duty 3 online. i never messed with any router settings, they were factory default. lately i've been getting "could not connect to all players" errors. so i started fucking with settings.
here's the path.
dsl modem -> Linksys WRT54G -> Linksys workgroup switch -> 360. the switch is in my room and connects my xbox (i use as a media center), xbox 360, and desktop.
before i had a second router acting as a switch and things were fine. it started to malfunction, so i got the switch. things were fine for a month or so, but now i keep dropping games in live and i can't join any games in COD3.
i have DMZ enabled on the router for the address i manually assigned the 360. shit still doesn't work, and the 360 claims it has "strict" NAT. can anybody make sense of this? is the switch the issue? do switches even have settings i can mess with? i'm tired of not being able to use the 360 for the original reason i fucking bought it.
thanks in advance.
