I run a 91 240 ina dirt track class here in the st.louis area.Car kicks major butt, but the are gonna be hungry next year after what i did this year to em.Any suggestions on head swaps, cam swaps, this is a 4 cyl and thats all the class is allowed to run.already pulled the air,and was considering pulling the power steering to get a quicker response, but need advise on how easy the rack is to steer without it?Also any airbox mods without being able to see it from opening the hood, stock box has to be in the car.I know this all sounds stupid, but there rules, jus mine to try and bend.

    thanks 2xtreme

where are you racing? the dirt track on highway 94 in st. charles? you could remove the resonator box to allow a little more air through. you just have to take it out through the driver side front fender. and drill holes in the bottom of the air box. you could get a different size belt to bypass the power steering and you should be fine without power steering on dirt. i'm currently not using power steering on the street. you can get new cams from coltcams.com.

Now that's interesting...almost as interesting as the guy with the BMW 2002 kicking butt at my local dirt oval. Nobody runs legal at this track.
The '91's have the best cams of all 240's. All the DOHC heads are identical as far as I know. Maybe you could cut out the bottom of the airbox and run a K&N drop in filter? If we knew the rules, we could probably help out more.

BTW...ALL 240's are 4cyl.

::still trying to envision a 240 on a dirt track::

The track is tri-city speedway in granite city.rules a kinda gray, must be in stock appearence,as far as the motor goes.Thye dont pump em,so its fairly easy to do a little head work. Most everything im runnin against is omni's,cavalier's,front wheel drive. This car flatout gets it on the dirt, closest 1 ive drove that handles like the other classes i run,but im new to the nissan, and just lookin to get a little more out of the motor,so i can run 3rd gear instead of 2nd(turnin 7000 at the end of the straight aways).
