Is the Nissan Emblem on the back center of the S14a and S14b the same?
Also, I'd like to see, if anyone has one, a good quality close up shot of both types (if they are different, or just one if they are identicle).
Also, are they inset into the plastic at all? ie: If I were to remove it, would there be an indent where it used to be or would you not even know it was there.
I plan to remove all emblems when I get my S14 next spring because 1) I dont like them 2) I've only seen 2 S14's my in my area, and I been here since I was born. I dont want anyone to know what kinda car I have, I think thats sweet when they dont know what it is. heheh (maybe im weird, i dunno)

There is no such thing as a s14b. It is s14 (95-96) and s14a (97-98)
I think that there is a script difference on the rear emblems. Thats it.
The rear emblems are glue/taped on, and you might have a color variation (fade), but thats it. On the hood, you will have 2 holes.

what the hell?
hehe thats the 240sxforums.com guys fault then
Ok, now I know.
Alright, so I'll have to think of something to do about the hood emblem that looks good. I'll put a glowing honda logo there. haha! NO!. (i'd kill me)

Jeff, s14b = s14 = 240sx 95-96 (basicly b = before, just like a = after)
Jammin, are you talking about the "Nissan" round emblems or the "240sx" emblems? If you wonna remove the round nissan emblem, then i think you'll have a hole, if just the "240sx" then it'd be alright. Although i see no point in doing that. People should know what car they got owned buy when they race you....

I've always used S14 ('95-96) and S14mc ('97-98, model change). I thought that was the most widely accepted terminology.
I like the emblem-less look. The car looks alot cleaner, and since there's less clutter up high on the car, it gives the illusion of the car being lower...to me anyway.

The nissan emblem on the back of the s14a is different than that on the S14. The S14 has a regular nissan emblem whereas the S14a has a different nissan emblem...a black one if I'm not mistaken....someone with one of the 5800 S14a's produced can probably clear that up for you. And if you do wanna take that one you will have a hole in the middle of the light panel. If you wanna see an S14 without any emblems check out my page. I got pics of when I painted my car...IMO I think the car looks goofy without a front nissan logo..but whatever floats your boat...

see it's confusing the way you think about it. Whenever someone says s14, you odn't know whether they mean s14 95-96 or all s14s. That's why i thought s14a and s14b are kinda better, and s14 just goes for all of them together

That's all mixed up too, though. Some people say S14a after S14, others say S14a after S14b, and some say S14b after S14a. You always know which one the S14mc is. But I've always wondered why there isn't an S13 and S13mc, or S13a and S13b b/c of the bumper change.....my head hurts.

on the dot buddie
s14 emblems for the taillights are normal Nissan ones where as the s14a ones are totally diff, its smaller..enclosed cuz it pops out black and is filled..its way diff
im pretty sure soembody here with s14a taillights will post up a pic
personally, my car came badge less, and since 240sx are rare..ppl dont knwo wat they are, and i like to show my pride and say "yes dammit i drive a 240sx" my car came with no badge so i couldnt say that, unless ppl knew wat car it was, right now my car has the 240sx badge. i mean its diff for Hondas, cuz EVERYBODY knows wat a civic is, so they can go badgeless and ppl still know wtf it is. but with a 240sx? some ppl dont know wtf that car is like my gf till i got one

yeah if anyone does have an s14a, i'd like to see a nice quality close up shot of the emblem on the back
actually i'd like to see an s14b (s14, whatever) close up also. I've never really payed much attention to what they actually look like.
Also, i've seen mixed answers concerning the back nissan emblem. Is there a hole under it or not?

They are different.
The (97-98) does not have any holes...i think.
(95-96) taillights are the better of the two.

any of you guys think that someone would buy the 240SX letter emblem and/or the Nissan Emblems if they were in perfect condition? If so for how much?

At least keep the emblem on the hood, it looks nice there. I'm thinking of buying the new Nissan emblems or something... Something else I was thinking of today, is like on the silvia s14's grill, it is slanted back with the words "SILVIA" sticking out in chrome lettering. But instead of that, "240SX" in chrome lettering, or maybe I've inhaled too much rust-buster... that stuff from Murray's smells sooo goooooood.

I really can't see why any one would buy them, but hey, somebody might. As for price....you can buy new ones at a Nissan dealer for like $140..that would be for the front Nissan emblem, the 240SX lettering, and the SE/LE bit.
Seperately, I think they told me 40 for the nissan logo, 70 for the 240SX, and like 30 for the SE/LE. Kinda pricy for some plated pastic

I think the emblemless look is the best. Alot cleaner and when you dust somebody at the lights it more fun when they go nuts because they don't know what just beat them.

95-96 tail lights are better? Then trade me your 97-98s for mine
