I believe it's the last 6 spaces of your vin #
vin#xxxxxxxxx000001
my car is the 1,876 off the factory line!

You can find out the date that your car was produced by looking at the label in the door jam. I don't know how to read the VIN though, I want to know what # mine was to roll off the line <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

The last six digits in a vin # is the "Sequential vehicle number of the vehicles that were built at a particular assembly plant".
1st digit = Country Code (J for Japan)
2nd = Manufacturer (N for Nissan/Infinity or Kia)
3rd = Vehicle type
4th-8th = for whatever purpose manufacturer choose to put
9th = check Digit
10th = model year (V for 97, W for 98, S for 95, T for 96)
11th = assembly plant
12th-17th = Sequential vehicle number of the vehicles that were built at a particular assembly plant

Not all manufacturers uses this type of format but most of them do. some manufacturers uses the 4th-8th digit for series, engine, model etc.
