So, I need a pignose bumper cover and since no one seems to have a nice one on the east coast of GA, I'm considering buying a clone locally from a place that sells replica oem bumpers in urethane. Has anyone done the same? Anyone have pics of one, so I can peep the quality?
The local, reproduction bumpers I speak of costs under $100 bucks versus a used real one shipped to me for 50 bucks plus $90 shipping.

People use such items all the time to avoid being buttraped after collisions. I know I definitely did on a car I wrecked back in 2001...
Do you have the option of looking at it and inspecting it before your money is irretrievably committed?

Honestly, I don't know. Going the oem clone route, is a plan I hatched late Friday evening and the place I speak of won't open till Monday.

remember, no matter who makes the bumper cover or body kit, oem fits right the first time and last =)

Places like Keystone sell reconditioned OE bumpers which are repaired in house. Most bumpers aren't badly damaged but insurance warrants a replacement, they take the old ones and refinish them. The aftermarket reproductions you speak of are one step down since it's a mold, but it's still 9 out of 10 versus anything fiberglass being a 6 at best.

why don't you just goto the junkyard
try and find a pignose or just post up in the wtb im sure people have them after putting on body kits locally

Aftermarket OE-style is the standard procedure where I work after a certain mileage. We normally have very new cars in the shop so it's usually OE parts, or OE was requested, but I can't say I've had to return an aftermarket bumper because of poor fit, I think.

Keystone like Russ said is a pretty reliable source.
I've never had to return any bumpers from them, but I also have never installed a finished bumper from them.
So I honestly don't know.

:duh:
You think I haven't done this? I've already raped the sole s13 in my junkyard till theres nothing left and I've done the "WTB" thing too.
I'll check Keystone.

Contact rongfk. I remember him having at least one pig nose bumper. Maybe he hasn't sold it yet. If he's not willing to ship it, I am. Paypal me the money, I'll buy it off him and then ship it to you. I'll do it for a small fee or maybe for parts if you have anything I might want.

^Never saw your reply, DreamN. I'm sticking to east coast transactions (cheaper shipping).

I've got an OE repro bumper on my pignose. fits alright, but I can tell it doesn't fit like oem. got the bumper back in '96, so I have no idea if it's quality is comparable to what's available now.

Mine isn't pignose but it is an aftermarket oem bumper. bought mine about 6 years ago. It did fit and I got all the bolts on there properly, however I noticed theres slightly more space in between the top of the bumper and the hood. But that might have just been mine, and it probably varies from company to company. Definitely check out the bumper first for any slight notches or nicks. Unfortunately for those who buy it online, you can't be as picky.
