Black stripe along S13 body

Well I want to redo the black stripe that goes around the body line on the S13's.
What would you guys suggest I use?? I was thinking maybe buying some vinyl sticker.

No, peel it off with the heat gun and remove the left-over adhesive with the WD-40.

my friend has always used
black electrical tape there is two kinds from 3m one is vinyl another one is teflon i used teflon and it sucked my friend has always used the vinyl one (it says it on the inside ring of the tape) and has never had a problem... he has a few stock ones and a few electrical ones and they all look the same try it out...

I've had it on for a few months now and no peeling.

I washed the car beforehand to make sure it sticks well. Just make sure its clean. Only one part by the wheel well was peeling, and it was because I didn't clean it too well.

Why don't you mask it off and paint it whatever color it is you like? That way it will never come off.

Yeah that is always an option, but i'm lazy. Sticking something on is just so much more easy. :hs:

If you're repainting the car, just shoot a line of black, run masking tape of the appropriate width where you want the stripe, then go to town with the paint job.

If not, do the electrical tape.

Not completely off topic, but does anyone know where to buy the black side molding that the Silvia's had? It wasn't just simple black. It had a design of some sort plus "twin-cam" or something similar to it at one point.

Any clues?

the stock stripe, unless i bought my car with an aftermarket stripe, is reflective. 3m makes reflective tape, you can find it pretty much any auto parts store and most hardware stores

you can go to autozone and get vinyl stipring, it says its for a mustang, lol, but it somes in a decent size roll, i suggest that. it comes in red, black, and white..

I used 3m electrical tape

worked just fine and was the same width as the oem one :bigok:

I can't imagine that an electrical tape stripe would make it through a summer here in vegas.. The adhesive is fairly weak and once it starts to peel or dirt gets in there it's all over. I like the paper street link, they have some interesting stuff LOL

to the threadstarter: i used electrical tape. it works ok. i had to replace it every
few weeks or so as it would start peeling.

you can also buy the striping new from nissan. i priced it out a few years back.
it's way way way too expensive in my opinion though.
something like $90 for the whole car? it's a 1-inch stripe, you've gotta be kidding me.
