Alright, took this damn monster apart to inspect the work done. It's not too bad, but I have two questions.

First off. I have this connector here, which is the O2 sensor plug.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/Mathieu1989/DSC03121.jpg

It has three wires coming out of it like so.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/Mathieu1989/DSC03123.jpg

The white wire goes to the ECU (splits into ecu ground, and ecu signal), the black wire next to it goes to a chassis ground, but the brown wire is not connected to anything.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/Mathieu1989/DSC03124.jpg

How I'm not sure where that wire is supposed to go. Help?

Second question. I have this mystery plug( don't recall from what I unhooked it)

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/Mathieu1989/DSC03127.jpg

It has two wires coming out of it. One is an ECU ground, the other is a white wire that goes to the ECU, but is cut short. Now I had a look, and there appears to be no white wires that were cut at the ECU ( other than the two joined CAS 180* signals) so I have no clue what this wire is supposed to be hooked up either.

Thanks in advance!

-Matt

I think, that the brown is supposed to go to injector power wire bundle off the egi relay on.

The other plug?

Dude you need the fsm plug layout.

Thanks, I didn't think of checking that fsm layout for the second plug, I'll have a look-see.

as john stated, brown needs 12v ign, power to injectors is fine. That 2 wire plug is the knock sensor, you can tell for sure by looking a little further down the wire, it should be a single thick black wire, which then splits itself further up near the plug and is wrapped in gray tape.

which category does your harness fall into?

1. unmodified JDM S13 SR harness
2. unmodified JDM S14 SR harness
3. new OE ???
4. JDM S13 SR harness that has been previously modified to mate to an S13/S14 Chassis?
5. JDM S13 SR harness that has been previously modified to mate to an S14 Chassis?
6. Other?

all of those options have nothing to do with the two plugs.

knock sounds about right.

Now, dance.

I must be dumb, I missed that wire comming out of the ecu plug for the knock sensor, it is indeed that one. Plug #2 fixed.

Plug #1 also fixed, just gotta tap that into a 12v for the injectors (eccs right?)

Thanks Statik and John :)

yeah, do it on the the bundle, where it goes from 1 wire to 4 wires for the injectors.

Alright, thanks a ton.

good luck with swap, heavy throttle has good info if need be.

haha, no swap, more like fixinf wiring. I hope this was the previous-preivous owner's work DOOK ;)

Also, the nipple on the intake pipe wasn't capped, ie: vacuum leak.

This is comming together nicely.

How are you testing the pins/wires? Resistance?

Ninjabread

I havent tested anything yet, I'm just following the fsm for the pin location, and following the wire to the plug. I was planning to do that later though.

Any tips and / or tricks ?

Yeah, set a multimeter to ohm's to test for resistance, and test ecu pin to device pin, looking for high resistance, isolate the source of resistance and repair the harness at those key points.

Might take 2-3 hours, but you will have a flawless harness and no electrical problems, you might as well since its all unwraped right now.

Yea that sounds like a good idea. Any way to fix loose wires in the ecu connector? One of my ECCS power wires is loose, and the idle would be affected when you moved the ecu.

That happens alot, get another pin out of another harness, and splice it onto the wire and install it.

Also you can un-pin it, and bend the lock tab up so it is more secured in the plastic connector.
