Hey guys, it's my first s14.

your just using a cheap Lincoln right? do you have the 2500? if so go spend 90$ and get the gas hook up, then you dont have to use the flux core, and you'll get a nicer and more steady bead, and best of all it wont splatter everywhere... check into it, it helps and is well worth the money..

great job, try to stay on the factory welds, and good luck...

i'm using that cheap craftsman flux core welder for 250$. it doesn't spatter much. just that it give fat beads. i hate it, but it holds well. i wish i bought the mig with gas. regret it, oh well

Not bad for a craftsman welder, are you gonna install roll cage too?

Even though he was being sarcastic, I've heard it before. I was selling this guy a welder and I was trying to upsell him on the one that had the optional gas hookup. Spent about 35-40min with him discussing the benefits and what was required and what not. We got into talking about what kinds of gasses to use. He said his friends use propane and wondered if he should too. I just kinda lol'ed and told him that he failed at life.

I was hoping you were going to say C16 or Nawz.

who cares how the welds look? a fender will be covering it up anyway? you should definitely see a noticable change in your chassis rigidity.

+1 for stitch welding the seams. a very time consuming mod that many of us neglect.

DEF get a nismo style chassis brace if you're interested in stiffening the body. SPL also makes fender braces.

also check out the stock S15 silvia bracing. they have a rear and a mid chassis brace that the s13 nor the s14 did not have.

Get the Front brace from Jonnie Fraz. Cheaper then the Nismo brace and works great.

This is the S13 thread, but the S14 should be coming soon!

S14 should be out...just for the ones who are willing to make it fit by slightly difficult drills.
