Veilside stickers on the skidplate. Clear sign of AIDS.

look for body rust. pay attention to the tranny, make sure it shifts smoothly.

but yeah, #1 is compression test. make sure you have at least ~150-155 across the board

basically anything that you'd look for in any other car. common places for s13's to rust are the frame rails (where they bend up towards the firewall) and the strut towers have a tendency to rot out.

look how clean the swap is, notice any signs of bad wiring, cracked/damaged electronics, any "rigs" they did.

Look for rust, any sign of leaking from engine, get the carfax on the car to see the past history.

Comp, check for blown turbo, sticky shifting from 1-2-3.

^^double on the blown turbo, make sure the tranny doesn't catch/grind.

definetly check the wiring make sure its all shrink wrapped and good clean solders especially if he did the swap himself...but i agree with every1 else compression test and turbo should be top priorities

Make sure to take it on the highway and at some time hit boost. Accelerating kind of quickly is a good way to find out how the turbo/engine reacts (listen for noises), also pay attention to any vibrations. Sometimes people get sloppy with their intercooler piping construction and you'll blow a pipe under hard acceleration which is annoying, so you want to make sure that doesn't happen...

Just ish like that. Ask him why he's selling it... there's nothing worse than dealing with someone else's headache.

do a carfax on it to make shure it hasn't been in any wrecks and other shit. and pretty much everything else everyone has allready said
