I was looking at some Status seats and they're just way too much money, and I don't need the whole FIA approved deal
Anyone know of any seats that have a carbon fiber shell and a suede cover that's not close to a grand for ONE seat, that's also not going to snap in half etc.?
Someone showed me F1Spec seats but then I found pictures of its cloth lining coming apart...

Hit Panda Garage up.
They have what you're looking for.

I remember when Status was priced low.
Then all of a sudden it jumped up quick.
I'd suggest signal or chargespeed then. It's good. Not too bad.
Or just save up for a recaro or bride.

rhd is selling zeta III sport pairs for like $1500 with rails
one thing with seats is to know how they feel cause alot of my friends can't even fit into my zeta II and always joke about if i am dating a chick with somewhat of an ass, they will never fit
the buddyclub seats are also reasonable in price
findinf carbon seats for the price your looking at will be hard unless they are those f1 seats, which are ok...

Most cheap seats are flexy and disgusting.
Buy from a real seat manufacturer. Sparco, Momo, OMP, Bride (decent enough), Recaro, Corbeau (if you have to), Cobra. Keep in mind, your safety does depend on this thing holding together.
My favorite bang for the buck is the Momo Start. The 2007 models are side mount rather then the old bottom mounts as well.

Are you actually racing? If you are, don't skimp on your seat. I use a Cobra Sebring S with rabbit ears for my head and neck. It's a carbon/kevlar seat that is FIA approved and about $800 from Subesports.com
The other issue besides protecting your body is protecting your investment. You will have a better resale value on an FIA seat over a Homer Simpson seat. My pro drivers Mike Bonanni and Scott Bush recently had some injuries and a dislocated rib from using the Status seats, because the seatbelt guide holes behind their shoulders were too low. It caused excess compression stress on their spines on different climbs and drops at the track. They are now running Bride in their cars.
