since there are very few wheels in the funky 4x110 and its an 84 it might be a gsl-se which have the more normal bolt pattern. i cant tell though. even the lower model 84-85s were 4x110.

i would really consider picking that up. at leats the wheels those are cool. im wondering how that thing ended up in there.

interior is easy to restore since its only a 2 seater to begin with.., what dash and side panels at the most! seats are dime a dozen.. go aftermarket..

If you thought of it that way, people spending money on 240's is a waste of time to. 240's are just economic sport compacts. Ironically the SA or FB(whatever you want to call it ) back in its time were raced against porsche's. The team that I drove with for 24 hours of lemons owns schneider autohaus here in SB they use to race 914's in the ALMS back in the late 70's/early 80's and they said the FB was their main competition.

Honestly "fixing" up a 30 year old car is like any other 30 year old car. Outdated suspension and chassis balh blah blah... it's mainly for the enthusiast who build the car and drive it just for nostalgia. And as we all know being enthusiast for anything will involve spending money on something that might not be worth it for the majority of people, but may make sense for that group of people who share interest for the car.

To me there are a few things that stick out as a car that is a decent deal. FB's are still going for a lot especially GXL-SE's. And back in those ages a kit wasn't just your normal run of the mill kits, if you look at the fit ment you can tell thats not just some normal Fat Boy Garage 350 dollar kit. Generally kits of those ages are thick high grade fiberglass (if not sheet metal), and were not made in batches but were individually hand made. Which leads me to believe although a junk car it was decently taken care of before it was junked. Also, based on the pictures given, considering the paint on the car, the tires on the car, it looks decent to me. Our 24 hours of lemons car looked worse than that.
So more often than not that car is probably a decent platform.

Out ran a 1999 745 i in the turns and kept up with E30's all around Altamont. Out braked any car on the track. 1200 bucks for a pos and eventually wrecked it !!! Hell yah it was worth it, and you know what we're doing it again.

look at that rust on the hatch seriously, why didn't you take pictures of the chassis of the car underneath, looks like that cars dead. Don't do it man, I did the same thing with a much newer car that looked good on the outside but was rusted all to hell on the inside. Unless you know how to weld for rust repair and fiberglass and really well you can't make a decent car out of that again. You DEFINITELY cannot turn a profit on that car unless you just part out the hood and rims.

FYI, since the car is an 1984 model year, just about every GM V8 crate motor will be an EPA legal setup for that car.

Wow if someone see rust they will call the car a total lost. A hatch won't cost too much and it's an easy fix. How about the frame and the floor ?
