um I was looking at some R32 wheels karim was selling, but I was informed by a fellow 240sx owner that this guy's really shady, he's a "preseller".

Does he take the money and then find the product, instead of selling a product he already has in his hands?

well a quote from a fellow 240sx member, Kevin Pratt (aka. mrmephistopheles on Freshalloy.com)
"preseller - some idiot who takes your money telling you he's sending what you bought, buy what you want from overseas, get charged more than he thought, asks you for more money and keeps asking for more
karim = ripoff"

Thats kinda funny actually how you guys are bashing Karim... i have 2 buddies that have purchased their SR20DET's off Karim as well as numerous other parts... They haven't had ANY problems dealing with Karim... however, i can understand your concerns as i have heard the other side of the fence with guys complaining about how Shady Karim is....

Holy crap.. KARIM! LOOK AT THIS POST! A guy who knows TWO HAPPY CUSTOMERS of yours ALSO has heard of people complaining and can understand why!!

Look, maybe you've changed your ways and your family is able to import alot more stuff for you, I don't know. I DO know that you used to presell ALOT. You also offered stuff for sale that a.) you didn't HAVE, b.) you'd purchased in japan, but was not stateside. That sort of behavior is shady! Don't take that personally, I'm not trying to attack you.
I hope your business does well, etc but I likely won't be a customer of yours, and if any of my friends ask me about your business, I'll give them my objective point of view. I can understand you wanting to protect your reputation, but searching an internet forum for dead treads about you and calling people's remarks slanderous is stupid. For one, it'd be libel. Slander is speaking, libel is writing. Furthermore, it'd only be libel if you can substantiate that something said here is untrue. If I ordered something from say.. flashoptions.com, and never ever got it, i'd have every right to complain about it. If I was dissatisfied with my happy meal at mcdonalds, I could tell anyone I want about it. If I don't like the fact that someone is a preseller, and behaves in a shady way, I can also tell anyone I want about it.
Now if I were to say that you fuck goats or that you failed to deliver a product after i'd paid for it, or sold me something I didn't order and was unpleased with, THEN you could have grounds for complaint. I didn't say anything like that.
Like I said: I understand your wanting to maintain a GOOD reputation. Ask your satisfied customers to tell others about their good experience.. Make up a sticker and send one out with each item you sell. Attend car enthusiast events. Don't hide in a warehouse and expect people to like you.
You've got to remember that in business, the customer's satisfaction is the #1 goal. (well, ok, making money is #1, but without customer satisfaction, you don't get customers, so you don't make money). That means that you have to be able to provide what you offer. Don't make claims. Don't presell. Don't offer stuff you don't have on hand and can ship the next business day.
Customer satisfaction is key, and in a relatively closely-knit community like 240sxers, who tend to be cheapasses and are VERY cautious with their money, you have to make it a point that ALL your customers and POTENTIAL customers are satisfied. That means having items on hand, having pics of the items, knowing info about the items and their application, etc.
I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job, but stressing out over what people say on the internet is fruitless. Go to http://www.bestbuysux.org/ Sure, I bet Best Buy doesn't like the fact that that site exists, but they can't threaten legal action on people expressing their first amendment rights.
Just some food for thought.
Good luck.
