EDIT - I have since sold these wheels and got some different ones, pics on Page 2

Ive just bought a set of Work Rezax for my S14. Front= 17x8 +10, Rear= 17x9 +10, so they have lots of dish. As you can see from the pics, they need a full refurb. I'm going to get this done professionally.

Heres the wheels:

http://images32.fotki.com/v1065/photos/4/43405/5358257/IMG_2409-vi.jpg

And here is my car:

http://www.jt-culture.com/images/jtc_200sx_2.jpg

I like the look of black on my car, and would love black centers with polished lip, but I'm worried that they'll look too small being 17s. To be safe, I was going to go for silver centers and polished lip.

Opinions? Advice?

Cheers guys =)

CHROME DAWG.

I think the colorway you had in mind would be good.

Black/polished is a no no though.

What kinda car were the pics of the wheels taken in?

What the hell happened to them? It looks like there are rock chips on the insides of the spokes.

I would do them fully polished or black chrome.

I would go with polished or chrome. It would make the car visually more appealing.

I would just make up my own mind, instead of relying of a group of strangers on the internet to tell me what to do with my car.

I'd say to figure it out yourself, but I guess ideas spawn ideas sometimes.

Polish them, then shoot on clear with black pearl in it.
No flake, just pearl.

It would have an effect similar to, but different than Work's Burning Black finish. Best of all, you could switch it up and use another color of pearl if black doesn't suit your car well.

I think polished with a gold tinted clear would look nice.

I know they're Rotas but I'm just linking them for the color.

I would just make up my own mind, instead of relying of a group of strangers on the internet to tell me what to do with my car.

I was really asking whether they would look too small with black centers, and if yes, what would look better. Nothing wrong with asking for inspiration. My car is my own, and everything I have done to it I do because I like it, not to please any forums :bigok:

Thanks for the ideas so far guys

I'd say white with a gold candy flake, white goes good with shades of blue, but polished lips of course

12-27-2007, 03:47 AM
polish the centers.
get the lips chrome plated.

if you dont want polished center then paint them gunmetal with lots of flake. when i say a lot of flake i mean more flake per cubic cm than anyone has very done before!

Quail
12-27-2007, 05:07 AM
Flakey Gunmetal sounds interesting! I'll speak with the shop doing it about options to make them look a bit special. Im just worried about the maintenance of fully polished wheels - remember I live in England = shitty weather
