I wanna build my own SR20, will the bottom end of a FWD sr20 fit on a RWD SR20 head? Are they the same bottom end?

The bottom ends on the outside are for sure different. The locations of the oil block and water necks are different as well as some brackets. Im sure the heads are similar but dont quote me on that. What are you putting it in?

rwd and fwd sr20s are totally different

try to find a sr20ve block or even a whole motor (neo vvl)

i saw a SR20DE swapped into an S13 before...that shit was so dump.
That guys car was all riced out...with a SR20DE engine. The cops came and keeps looking at his car. Everyone was laughing at the car and the cops hahahaha...

moral of the story is, get a SR20DET from a RWD car :D

Let me know how it goes if you decide to go that route. I have a Rwd SR20det in my Kouki right now, but am always a little worried about getting checked under the hood. If there was a way to swap in a FWD SR20 into it instead, it would be smog legal (given the engine is from a same here or later car).

Wtf would you swap a na sr into a 240?

You should just sell the sr and get a ka.

But then you're in florida.

Wtf do they care?

I've actually moved to Utah, and they have emissions testing in Salt lake.

have sum common sense

its a fwd motor into a rwd... things are gonna be in different places

plus... a KA24DE is better than an SR20DE

If you want to go FWD stick with the KADE it has way more potential than an NA SR20. AN example: my uncle used to build the nissan offroad truck motors and had a 460whp NA KADE in the famous nissan off road truck. shit was sick.

I'm throwing logic out the window...

There is NO way that engine would idle or be remotely street able if that was possible.

some people didn't even think 200whp was possible, and I know of only a few people who've been able to pull that off, you should learn how to bluff

I went on a website and saw a guy convert a RWD sr20de into turbo, The cams are larger and the compression is higher than the SR20DET. Heres the link

what my original plan was to find a bottom end from an FWD SR20de(T) and tranfer brackets from a RWD SR onto the bottom end. I wonted to use a RWD SR Head and bolt it on the FWD Block.

i believe the FWD blocks are missing some holes for rwd stuff. by the looks of it, youre missing engine mount holes. the heads look to be different as far a distributor/cam sensor location

as far as the NA vs Turbo sub topic going on here, some people just like the feel and response of a NA motor over the lag of the turbo motor. it all depends on what the car will be used for and driver preference.

actually you can get an NA sr20de out of any Japanese model of the 240. s13 s14 and s15 all came with them, its just like the base model over there.

What is the main reason you are trying to put a FWD SR20de into a 240sx? I know my main interest would be for emissions. You would have a street legal 240sx w/ an Sr20 engine, hell, slap on an CARB turbo, and your set, no Ref,, no paying off the emissions inspector, just smoke Camaros, Beemer's and HONDA's all day, and be proud to lift open the hood, and say, um, yeah, its sr'ed,, but,, its legal, have a good day.

So you're saying that you can get an na ka/sr with over 200 rwhp to idle?

haha.

hahahahahahahahahahah.

You should lean how tuning and building power from motors work.
