What the diff, between haven the blow off valve on the hot pipe, vs haven the blow off valve on the cold pipe? I have seen on the d1 style cars that have the blow off valve on the cold pipe, but my home boy just got a hks ssq blow off valve with the hot pipe. Does this really make that much of a diffrence? Thanks for the help yall.

Having it on the cold pipe helps reduce pressure drop. Pressure drop = bad. :) As for how much of a difference it makes, it's probably not much...but I'm not certain. D1 cars probably need all the advantages they can get.

There is no 'i' in 'boy'. It doesn't make you look cool spelling like that, it makes you look retarded.

no, you will not notice the difference.

shouldn't the length of the recirc tube be as short as possible?

i.e. if the bov is on the hot pipe, the recirc tube is shorter...vs being on the coldpipe the recirc tube would be much longer.

or does everyone just vta these days?

Really the only difference is preference. If it is on the hot pipe, the pressurized air inside the intake will have to travel backwards to the bov to release the excess pressure. If it is on te cold pipe, depending on where it is, the air doesn't have to travel backwards as much. Some people think it is better to have it on the cold pipe so that it doesn't disturb the airflow. The people that think it is better to have it on the hot pipe think it is better there so that you aren't "wasting" the cold air that just went through the intercooler.

You definitely get less compressor surge on bigger turbos when you mount the bov on the hotpipe. But on the cold pipe you get more turbo response. And you can mount the bov anywhere. It really doesnt make that much difference. I have even seen people mount it on the intercooler endtanks. I have mine mounted on the cold pipe near the bumper opening. Less clutter in the engine bay.

the air is not flowing backward to open the BOV. it is a pressure wave that propogates "backwards" to open the BOV.

Sorry, didn't use the proper terminology. I was trying to put it into words that anyone can understand. Either way you put it, the air goes back from where it was to the bov to release the pressure in the intake.

No difference. People prefer mounting on hot pipe because it's easier to recirculate that way, also naturally it's less cluttered there.

That's it.

the JUN cars have like 2 1/2 foot long recirc tubes - lol... metal recirc tubes FTW.
