any one rocking tanabe 5 or 7's? im in the market for coilovers and have been pretty set on the FLT-A2's, but just out of the blue remembered tanabe 7's and went to look up pricing on those. while on their site i saw the 5's listed and i havent heard anything about them. i know the 7's are suposed to be really nice and be a good quality product, but how are the 5's?

this seems like a "blog" thread.
kinda pointless.
Knowing Ziliva, someone is gonna start up their flamethrower....

I have 7's right now.....they are nice, very nice quality and are pretty comfortable on the streets
I payed $2500 for the coilovers + TEAS

yea the TEAS system has always intrigued me more than the EDFC but the 600 price tag is a bit much I belive when you're already payig about 2000 for coil overs already. but do you know if it would be a pain in the ass to install the TEAS after you put the coilovers on, e.g. me buying the TEAS system at a later date?

main point about TEAS is if you connect it to your speed sensor it adjusts dynamically while you are driving.

I havent installed my TEAS yet because its been cold and i dont have a garage....AKA Im a pussy...but it seems relatively easy to set up, and you have to install it with the coilovers already in because the damper adjusters sit on top of the coilovers

The TEAS is a MONUMENTAL waste of money.
If you spend a little time to learn how to set up shocks, you don't need a computer to do it for you.
Save the $600+ and get something else.

its not that i wouldnt know how to set up shocks, its that you can change dampening on the fly without having to get out and take 10 mins to do it.

I'm rocking the 5's and I like them. The spring rate is lower on them then the Seven's so they are a bit more street friendly.

Tanabe Sevens are, in my opinion, the best of the 'premium' coilovers - sure Zeals cost more, and Cuscos will make you popular with the STI crowd, but Tanabe Sevens already come with hardcore springs (10k/8k), are valved correctly for their unbelievable range of adjustability (from great ride to super-track-stiff), and are serviceable right here in Torrance I believe (Tanabe USA is in socal).
Search for my post in a coilover thread here (I've done a couple write-ups) and you'll see why they're so good. Whether they're worth the premium over Stance GR+'s is the question...
And finally, the thread jack - my S13 set may be going up for sale soon (PM me for info).
