Alright so this is whats up, recently i bought a new car Stereo and i Decided to install it. I got the wire kits Etc. Now after i took out my old stereo and put this one in the power doesn't seem to be running to it. Even if i put in my old Stereo it doesn't work, I have tried to change the fuses but those are in perfect condition, in addition to the radio not working/getting power, my clock on the Odometer does not want to work.:aw:
This all started happening after i removed the stock system so..... plz help :P
Many thanks!!!

Recheck fuses, all of them in the kick panel. The fuse for my clock is on the same line as my constant power to the head unit. Also, if you have an SE model you have some factory amps you might want to bypass. Goodluck! :)

Got 12VDC meter? Test your leads for +12VDC. If you have no power, like ^^^^ check your fuses.

If your car is an se you have to deal with the oem amps under the deck lid going out. There is a write up on NICO with really good instructions on how to remove and rewire. I did this on my previous s14 because I encountered a similar problem.

MAKE SURE THE ANNTANA IS PLUGED IN
the nissan uses some gay ground type shit
so if your Antenna plug is not in, it wont give power

Where is your ground wire?
You overloaded the circuit and blew the radio fuse, which also controls some of the instruments and lights.

How do you connect the radio antenna if the plug is different? I had the same problem with my s13 the clock on cluster wouldn't light my hatch light wouldn't turn on anymore and no power to the radio. My dad was touching my power cables to ground because he forgot to disconnect the battery but, when he did it was too late.

If you want to retain the stock antenna, you need to buy a converter that converts the 2-prong Nissan radio plug to a standard 1 pin Motorola plug. Any good radio shop will have this.
A bad ground will cause a broken fuse.

^^^ I have to say, this is a VERY common problem with people that aren't familiar with 12V electronics. Grounding is key, often times more important than where you're pulling +12V from. And +rep for g6civcx for getting it right, everytime :)
(as long as we're talking electronics and not v8/carburetor swaps :keke: oooh sick burn lol)

A lot of nissans use the iso mount brackets that are bolted on to the radio for a ground. When you unscrew it from and pull it out it loses its ground and then the stereo grounds out through the antenna. I don't know why they made their stereos work that way but maybe there was a good reason for it.

WTF are you talking about. The antenna is used for the ground.
A GROUND CANT GROUND OUT.
g6civcx got it right.
unscrewing the mounts has no effect.
I installed my radio,
plugged in the antenna.
reattached the battery and tested the radio...
outside of the dash with it sitting on my passenger seat.
It worked perfect.
Then i put it in the dash.
if anything its that weird electron fuse in the driver side kick panel.
