Ok, turbos are measured in lbs of boost and superchargers are measured in psi so whats the conversion of lbs of boost to psi? Basically I'm wondering if I were to build my engine to handle 20lbs of boost how big of a superchager could I run instead?

To convert 20lb. of boost to psi, mutliply it by 12.5, then subtract 50. Now divide it by 10. So....20lb. of boost equals 20 psi.

So then why do most superchargers only run like 7-9psi? Would it possible to find or even modify one to produce 20 or so?

you wouldnt need to modify one to run more, its just that people like to keep there cars and engines alive so they dont run outrageous boost on the supercharger... u just have to find one thats capable of handling whatever boost pressure u want to apply

You can run em' at any PSI you want (they just might not be effective) You would need to buy a new pulley to run whatever PSI u want.

So I can just get a sc and put whatever size pulley on to achieve as much boost as I want. Is there any way to use something like a variable boost controller like they have for turbo's where you can just push a button and turn the boost up or down? I love turbo but hate the lag.
