ok i have been trying to sell this. it started at $5k then dropped to $4k. That is the lowest I'm dropping it. I dropped it from 5 to 4 because i removed the radio, speakers, greddy turbotimer and profec b spec2. and just lowered it a little more for a quick sell. My asking price now is $4k and no lower. here is what i posted on northwestnissans

so basically my question is the price too low that people are afraid to purchase it because they think i am being shady? or is the asking price too high?

City: Olympia
State/Province:WA
Price:$4000 no trades
Item Description:
1989 240sx fastback S13 sr20det (redtop) driven less than 2500mi. when installed
dyno'd on DYNODYNAMICS at 225 whp and 202 wtq @10psi

Bought this car as a project car from a friend in August 2005. It had a blown ka24e and I swapped it with a redtop sr20det w/ 60k from an importer in November of 2006. The car used to be white and he painted it sandstone grey. Engine bay is still white and certain areas. Exterior of vehicle is better than decent especially for and 18 year old car. Minor dings but no dents. Small chips. Car was rarely driven until now when I drove it up from California last weekend. The car was rarely driven due to the mere fact I am stationed here and I was too lazy to drive it up here from California. This car was rarely driven. My loss is your gain.

Vehicle is here in Olympia, WA

if the chassis itself is pretty clean...id say you were asking a fair price...maybe leave the turbo timer (used they're 50 bucks...but its just another selling point, so you might as well leave it in there.)

good luck with the sale :)

In all honesty not too many people want to take on someone's project car. They don't know what has been done to it, and usually don't want to fix all the minor/major problems or have any surprises. It is easier and safer to buy a stock 240 for a grand or two and do all the work themselves. You will find someone to buy it for that price, it just might take a while. SR's area a dime a dozen now days, and no offense but you don't have anything on your car that isn't run of the mill.

well....with the comment about how common sr's are...(granted you are correct) but it all depends on where you are. you made this statement living in socal...which is VERY true. I wouldnt be suprised to see 80 year old women with sr's. But its all about where you're selling the car.

I can vouch for Ross, he's put a lot of money into this car, and spent a lot of time deciding what parts to buy. The car indeed never was driven a lot since he's never home.

4k is a pretty good deal

Good luck with the sale

He lives in Fresno, SR's are common across Cali, not just SoCal. Like I stated someone will buy it for that price, it just might take a while. It is a fair price I wouldn't lower it, you just have to be patient

^^^ can someone interpret what he just said for me? (cc4usmc)Trying to get his post count up I guess......anyways. It took me months to sell my hatch with an sr and silvia front end. No one wanted it or wanted to pay the price so I end up just completely parting it out. If it's in washington you should have a better chance at selling it.

^he means that the forums that the op posted on is always dead so he never gets any hits, mainly because no new people join.
