To all in the SoCal area,
I notice a lot of track days coming up, so i get the feeling that people want to go driving. However, not all of us have the money to go driving every other weekend. (typical 240 guys), so heres the remedy
what about a cruise up the crest, with a bunch of zilvia guys. just a nice steady pace, nothing too crazy, but not boring. now that temps are getting lower, people wont have problems overheating going up ahhah:bigok:
so what do you guys say?

fisrt off this should be in the regional threads.:keke:
second you can drive as fast as you can on the track, or drift all day at the track without getting a ticket.:ugh:
third now that it is getting colder, there will ice up the mountains soon enough. good luch driving through all the salt they put down. :fawkd:
save $$$ and go to the track!:bigok:

puhaahah i agree.. thats why i said, a FAIR pace. for us 240 guys, this fair pace would be... a remarkably fast one, for an everyday "cruise" am i wrong?

1) oops haaha i forgot.. i meant to..... i swear...:ugh:
2) there arent too many cops up at the crest, especially towards the upper parts.
3)there is no ice there, as of right now. i went up last night... the temps are still too high,, perfect for DRIVING conditions :keke:
4) .... no argument:mrmeph:

I love angeles crest! It has a really nice rhythm and it is almost all 3rd and 4th gear corners. I don't think that cruising it with a large group of 240's is a good idea though, cuz like dousan said you can't cruise it, it's too fun.

yo LB motor, funny, i actually bought herbs car from Joe, who bought it from him, just put finished up the motor two weeks ago...haha, i saw ur posts on the original thread.....ya the SC canyons do rock, i was just on the 17 for a bit, and got kind of scared cause too many ppl were on the road, and dont want to get 5-owned so soon, then went up some other road by my girlfriends school she knew about, but it was too dark, the 152 out of watsonville towards the 101, that is one dope canyon, used to take my FD up there all time

11-16-2007, 01:39 AM

SERIOUSLY! I took the sickest road ever from the 101 over to the 1 on my way to my aunt's place in santa cruz for thanksgiving last year. I forget the name of it though. I even made it about 75% of the way through before I hit traffic.

just of wary of bikers during the day. don't wanna see the 2-wheels go down because a car wanted to show off. dousan hahaha G20. I prefer a del sol. massive trunk.

ok if we are going to off about Santa Cruz mountain roads. Go run HWY9 up to skyline boulevard and then run Skyline down to La Honda RD. Run La Honda rd. If you have balls and like tight as twisties try running Page Mill rd either down to the beach or back into Palo Alto.
If you want to run a dope ass road between the 152 and Paso Robles? Try out HWY 26( I think thats the number) down the ridge of the mountains that separate the Salinas Valley from the Central Valley. 75 miles of pure unadulterated fun with no population i.e. gas stations or anything . Just cows and farmland hahahhahahhahha. Its a favorite among sport bike riders.

LOL good luck trying to run the crest with a huge group of modified 240s. They wont need to bother catching up to you, the CHP will just set up a nice road block for you all to pull into at the bottom of the mountain and gather up your fix it tickets.
Cops are dicks up there, they dont give you ANY leeway (that spelling doesnt look right) if youre in a modified car. I got caught doing 59 in a 55 and even though he let me go on the speed he still popped me for tint and no front plate (even though it was in the window).

We all used to run up there every week.
But then started seeing retarded people up there and stop going.
Or could be I peered down the side of mount wilson and realized the drop was no picnic.
It's been like a year now since I've been back.
