yea I was hoping he had done some 256-ers cause I just killed a pair of HKS 256-ers and there ain't know way in hell I 'm spending that kind of money on cams ever again. I just know that those cams are going push my hp just a little higher than what I'm looking for right know. That and I'm running a T28.

How does one 'kill' a cam.
If you killed a real cam, I could only imagine how quick you kill a fake, crappy, inferior copy.

How did you raise your rev limiter? Was it a Rom Tune?
I have all crower head work as well, and 256 Step 1 on the exhaust and stock intake on a GT2871R. Mainly wanted to keep the low end and not high horsepower cause of autox.

yeah rom tune
ill do it w/a standalone too

just run the 264s. youll LOVE them. the Brian Crower stuff is AWESOME, especially for the price. great company and smart dude. the cams have made retarded power in everything the shop i was working or put them in, dyno proven. more than the HKS equivelant on several cars. get the stage 2s you wont regret it, i have the stage 3s and my midrange is still badass.

The real solution to cams is for you to use Jim Wolf S3's.

dont forget you can go the cheap route and get a re-grind done on the stock cams if you have em. like a 100 bucks a piece depending on where you go and you can get just about any spec done.

Going the cheap route is how things get fucked up though. Just my .02

Just wondering. How many people bashing Crower have actually used his stuff?
Delta > Crower Any day.
On the funny Side I got a mild race grind(lowest grind they'll do) for my KA and it was still hotter then Crower Stage 4 cams for the KA. Powerband was great 4000 to rev limiter. Friend's with SRs were not happy an NA KA kept up with them haha.

Quoted for truth. Nissan cams are fragile as it is, imagine some bobo slapping it in a machine!

I thought his point was correct, why would you not?

I've personally picked pieces of BC valvetrain out of a two honda heads (not mine)
I guess my problem is that I see no reason why people can't get S3's and be done. They go out and spend money on cheap copycat cams, cheap srings and retainers, when they can just get S3's (or other comparable name brand cams that work wtih stock valvetrain) and be done.

brian crowers are independantly engineered, not copied from anything. my motor with BC stage 3 makes a good portion more power and better midrange and high end and pretty much everything than my buddys with JW S4 and a similar setup.
if the brian crower stuff broke on the hondas something was done wrong, weve installed ALOT of brian crower stuff and it all makes tons of power and never had a single failure. (hondas, K series and B, subarus, SRs, KAs, and EVOs)
the JWs are nice cams but the brian crower stuff is better especially for the money from my experience.

Post graphs. Same everything, just cam changes?

Brian Crower cams are cheap no name chinese castings that have no research into them. Crower (just Crower) is a different company
As far as the hondas, one was a spring breaking, which made a mess, and the other was a retainer that galled through itself, thus breaking.
I know the guys that installed them, and they have built more honda heads than I have probably engines, so it's not an install error IMO.

You're th eonly person I've ever heard say or claim that, from both RWD and FWD crowds. Not saying he's the end all of knowledge, but Mike Kojima has FAR more experience in the SR world, and has showed us time and time again why he uses the parts he uses.

thanks ya'll for all help. The reason I killed the cams was lack of oil presser to the head. Baffled oil pan is on the way. I am going to go with the crowers for sure. I am planning on making around 380hp to the wheels so stage 2's should be great for that goal.

I don't know where you get your information but that is so inaccurate. If you look at BC cams they have nissan casting marks on them. They have the 53J cast mark in them so you know they are nissan cams. And that means BC camshafts are oem regrinds. Thats why they sell them so cheap. This doesn't mean that they are low quality at all.
And just because you have good luck with the jwt s3 cams, doesnt mean everyone has to get them. Every setup is different so why do you keep recommending those cams. Its getting pretty old.

OH MAN...I am so glad someone agrees with me. I have seen that dyno graph for the 1000th time on every 240 forum possible. I respect him highly for the setup he has put together but bragging about his setup every chance he gets is overboard and old.
