its pretty much personal preference, put it where you like it. i like running mine in the fender well near the tire, i like the clean look of just piping and no BOV.

mine is on the cold pipe but its all preference. Running atmospheric and not recirc.

it mounts on the bottom of the intake manifold near the carburetor.

lol carburetor. anyways, i don't really mix them, it's just the 2 styles i like! lol. Yeah i guess it is all preference, but just seeing what the majority have!

bottom of the hot side by the intercooler tial 44mm

Thats nice, i think im going to do something like that! But with my s14 if i get rid of the bumper reinfocement bar, i have no idea how the bumper cover is going to stay up. I will only be able to bolt it up on the sides by the front wheels, and not by the headlights anymore!

Use the bumper support...

For some reason the intercooler sits a bit too high for the bumper support. it's kind of weird. I'll try to jerry rig it or something. I know i have to be doing something wrong.

In a perfect world you want the BOV as close to the trottle body as possible...

Alright, i gotcha.

imo if you ever plan on recircing it, then it should be on the cold pipe.
if you dont want to risk having any compressor surge it might be a safer bet to put it closer to the compressor exducer.
im not sure if it would make a difference, but thats my theory

No, you put it closest to the throttle to minimize loss of air in the pipes... That way it's less work for the turbo and you keep boost up.

I have a recirculating setup, it's on the hot pipe a few inches from the compressor outlet.

It's a cheap-ass XS Power core, standard Ebay size. Intake temps are probably pretty high right now since my filter is right next to the radiator. Gotta get that fixed :(

I got no filter... Intake temps sky rocket when I'm sitting but when the car is rolling they usually drop back to 30 - 40 degrees C.... FMIC FTW.

Ahhh! i need to get my FMIC set up correctly! I have one, but can't figure the darn thing out! lol.

Eh? There's only one plate it can go...
Borund
11-09-2007, 12:22 PM
lol, well i know that. I had to cut my bumper support to fit the FMIC you know, but that little bar that goes onto of the bumper support, i believe it's the bumper reinforcement is in the way! So if i didn't use it, i wouldn't have a way to bolt down my bumper cover in the front! it would only be held on by the 10mm bolts on the side near the front wheels!

Take it off, you don't need it.
Borund

I dont?! wont my bumper cover sag n the front? cuz its not bolted down?

Take it off, you don't need it.
that point can be argued, as it does connect both frame rails together stiffening up the front end. That and in a 5-10mph hour impact it will help protect the front end of the car, i had a customer pick up his car after we did an install and he wrecked it half mile from the shop as he was leaving, had he not had that support it would more then likely totaled out the car, but with it it mashed up the corner a lot, but we managed to pull it all back out.
