Ok, Upon searching, my results are contradictory.... One thread I read has someone saying there is no usdm cross reference part.... And another says that the b13 sentra has the same head bolts. Also, I recall somewhere reading that for arp head studs, you have to get a vw set. I dont recall which car or motor that was. The reason Im asking this is I work at auto zone, so I get a discount, so It would be very beneficial to me.
Thanks,
Jason

Id much rather spend 20 dollars on head bolts than 120... especially since I am running a stock sr.

I think phase2 or courtesy might carry it. Oh maybe even heavythrottle.

Uh.. ARP studs from Summit....
You spending $20 on headbolts instead of $120 is why your head is going to lift and cause your motor to overheat. Don't cheap on important shit.

If they are oem head bolts, they will not allow the head to lift.

well since you work at autozone then go look at your inventory and check out what the headbolts look like from the b13 sr20 motor and take measurements, then call arp and ask them for the dimensions theirs. but would the head bolts for the turbo sr20 be any different (strength wise) than a na sr20?
I googled this months ago. VW set is like 108 at summit vs SR which is 129.

What I am trying to do... Is find out which vw that is too. Then, I can go to work, and get a set of oem vw head bolts at a discount.
If vw oem = vw arp = sr arp = sr oem
Then I have a discount on a set of oem quality head bolts that fit an sr....
Once again,
Which VW is it to that works for the sr.
I dont want arp,so it being close to the same price as the arp sr ones doesn't make me any difference.

What would cause my head to lift with oem bolts on 7psi?

OEM FTW
Ive used them on a couple 400whp tuned setups now.
Luke is running 0EM bolts with PE head gasket.

So i called arp, and they wont tell me which VW studs are compatible. They just kept saying "we have the sr20det kit"
Well yes I know this but which vw kit is the compatible one....
In other words, Which VW oem bolts can I buy that will work.

Sorry I dont have the answer for you, but when i got my ARP head studs, it said for what VW on the box. I thru mine away, but if some1 has a box from the studs they used, it could help. Lil sticker on the side said for what VW, but like i said, i dont have it any more.

There is nothing wrong with oem studs. It's just that some people try to reuse them when they take their head off.
The biggest part is just making sure you install and torque any stud in the right sequence.

The arp vw equivalent lifted the head at 26psi on one tune I did. The oem bolts are stronger than the arp vw equivalent. Just put new oem's in when you replace the head.
ARP's sr20 specific studs are thicker than the vw equivalent many are trying to use. If you need arp bolts for your sr make sure they are for the sr20 and NOT the vw equivalent.

wish I had a choice. I ordered a set for the SR, and received those. I guess you can't go wrong with stock, just as long as they're brand new (duh).
Well i'm not going to be shooting for outrageous #s like that tho.

yea at 7psi, i should be fine. But anyways, I spent all the rest of today looking through ebay and other places, got some part numbers some sellers listed as sr20det studs, went to arp and lo and behold, I came up with my answer. Went to work and ordered some bolts for 40 bucks. When they come in, Ill let you know how it goes.

if you are replacing head bolt upgrade get the arps. Just in case you upgrade turbos or something like that. As for the VW studs spend the extra 20 bucks man

The ARP bolts are for the 1.8t. The sr bolts are NOT thicker. Boost does not lift heads, cylinder pressure causes that in the form of huge spikes caused by detonation.
