What do you mean by "After Market"? Are you referring to non-oem (cheapo parts that you get with a jiffy lube job... that sounded bad. a fast lube job!! haha...)  filters such as FRAM and Mobil-1 filters?
I would only buy one "after-market" filter other than the OEM nissan filter... and that's a $15 SARD performance oil filter. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':sly:'>

Honestly i don't think there is difference. The brand of oil plays a much greater role. The only negative side effect of cheapo filter i see is that u might be required to change it faster. But since filters are rated at 7000miles and most people change them at the time of oil change, eg every 3000miles, it shouldn't matter....

i've heard there are differences in the oil filters. i think someone posted a link where they were tested. mobil 1 and purolator were good, fram were bad. anyone have the link?

true story. my friends dad picked up a k-mart oil fiter.....you know what the hell it will do the job........put it on 15 minutes later the "can" the surrounds the filter poped off.

I only use oem, just to be safe. &nbsp;plus my local dealer has a buy 3 get 1 free deal on oil filters. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
