i took my s13 from st. louis down to Sarasota FL a couple years ago. i averaged 29mpg on my stock ka24de. keeping it around 3k + cruise control + flat highway at speed = excellent gas mileage

i second the 29 mpg comment. but i'd be conservative.
2200 miles / 25 mpg = 88 gal
88 gal x $3.00 per gallon = $264 on gas. (30mpg will cost about $220)
you can make up equations like this, just follow the units.

2200 miles/ 25 mpg = 88 gallons
88 gallons x $3.19 per gallon (just an example, cost could vary) = $280.72
* you will spend about $280 for 2200 miles
560 for the round trip

Are you looking to find out how many miles to the gallon you will get or are you trying to figure out how much it will cost to get you there?
If your wondering how much it will cost...
Miles of your trip (in this case 2200) / mpg
The answer will then be number of gallons and then just multiply that by the price per gallon
Edit: Damn Im behind because Im trying to do my homework at the same time :(

I would put gas price at 3.50.... It isnt there right now but its getting there soon. Frickin price per barrel jumped near two dollars recently for the December delivery. Shite!
On long trips like that just put the cruise control 65 and chill like f. No real rush, you'll barely get anywhere faster going faster..Cops in the plains hate tourists speeding. State Troopa!

for people with '98 + cars... here's a cool site that caculates it for you by gas prices regional average, make, model, and year of your car, as well as starting location and destination.
fuelcostcalculator (http://studenttravel.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=studenttravel&cdn=travel&tm=10&f=10&su=p531.31.152.ip_p532.6.150.ip_p531.29.420.ip_p28 4.8.150.ip_&tt=13&bt=0&bts=0&zu=http%3A//www.fuelcostcalculator.com/)
i would NEVER consider driving my 240 that far. it'd be so uncomfy, loud, boring (esp since the radio just got stolen), so dreadful.
word of advice: while it may only cost around $280 in gas you also should factor in a "incase-shit-happens" budget. seriously.
