I know its FWD but FWD can still be really fun on a track if driven right and is often more practical overall.. But I find this car to be fucking awesome. Has GM finally gone and done something right? Holy hell I hope so.

my old roommate had an ion redline. what a pile of shit that car was. seriously, if you like shit build quality and bad handling, a GM "pocket rocket" is perfect for you.

The ION was the last POS that Saturn had. In case you haven't been paying much attention GM is going through a renaissance. Saturn was the first brand to get a complete over haul and every vehicle they've released since the Aura is better then the last.
GM's quality has also risen drastically.
Their interior designs have went from Hertz quality low budget plastic garbage, to Saturn Interiors (the Sky excluded) arguably rivaling that of MB, and Lexus in fit and finish and design.
Seriously. Get in a new GM car that's been released in the last 2-3 years. It's a whole new world.

And? Inifities are just rebadges Nissans? It was a genius move for them to sell Opels here as Saturns. Saturn needed a new image. GM happened to have a youthful line of cars in it's repertoire. It's cost effective and it ended up paying off tremendously.
GM did the same thing with Cadillac and the introduction of the CTS and it's new styling language. Now they are going even further with it and the second Gen CTS is being showered with praise. Plus it's dependability is bonkers. (See below)
Pontiac is about 2 years away from a compelete over-haul that a lot of people on this very forum have been asking for; RWD cars. The first car is the G8, but the G5 and G6 are going to be replaced with RWD cars. BINGO. It took forever, but Pontiac will finally be a sporty/sports car line it was meant to be.
Buick's Enclave is a great vehicle inside and out. Combine that with Buicks insane dependability. WIN. (See below)
Chevy has a way to go, but the new Malibu is a great start.
GMC (should get axed), Saab (should get axed), Hummer (eh, hold their value, that's about all I can say about then).
There's quit a bit of good stuff coming out of GM right now and in the near future. Unfortunately Ford and Chysler aren't even paying attention.

It's a good buy. IIRC correclty the Opel Astra was voted car of the year from one European publication.
I thought about buying one as a cheap commuter car. Since I get my dads GM discount it would be a good deal.

I know, and the Aura/Vectra, and the Astra. In a few more years, they will share all cars. Funny thing about the Sky/Opel is that WE actually got the Sky before they did.

But you can get it in any two tone colors you want. That's sick.

I know. I'm hoping I can post enough on here for someone big to notice and offer me a job. JK.
Seriously though, I was actually anti-American just a couple years ago. It wasn't until 04 or so when GM started making some good cars, interiors, and decisions that I got back on board. Ford and Chrysler still have a ways to go.

I agree with the comment about them matching a 17 yr old design but when considering the cost margin btw a cobalt ss and a R32 GTR its pretty sweet. Im surprised this thread hasnt moved towards the fact that they mentioned this motor going into the solstice GXP. Look out for some of those being fast pretty soon as long as the motor responds well to upgrades and can handle power. I would consider getting it, only downside is they dont offer anything not a convertible, meh.

It's currently in the GXP and the Sky Redline.
