View Full Version : 20G Turbo on Tiger Racing SR20DET car.

thought i would share this setup with you guys.

this was before NOPI Drift NATIONAL ATL, GA

here we are testing out a new turbo sponsored by Forced Performance on the Tiger Racing Drift car, with their 20G Forced Performance turbo.
little to no mods to bolt this up the sr20det motor, had to swap out some fittings and adjust few minor things.


non-ball bearing
using a completely stock sr20det s14
only with BC stage 2 cams and injectors.
no springs/no retainers
stock head gasket/bolts.
FMIC
MR turbo manifold
power fc

Setup was done by Sam from Tiger Racing.

only at 17 lbs of boost with A/F tuned for drifting.

note:

boost will be turned up and tested when new head gasket/studs and supporting mods are done. turbo is known to live at 1.7 to 2.1 bars.
i am confident we should see some nice power and powerband.
i will post dyno reslt when we run it at 1.8 bars.

installed before dyno day and day before race day. dont mind the temporary quick fix crappy hoses and clamps.

had to mod the return line. no biggie

then later this 2 week....

anyways, we pulled the motor out for the next season and getting an invitation from D1GP to compete in this years World All Stars 2007 at Irwindale, CA this November....last minute confirmation.....we were stumped. So we decided, well the darn motor needs to get back into a car..and it needs a new home......so we threw the motor and tranny back into our R32 Skyline.

anyways, got it retuned, motor was freshened up alittle, still stock but with head gasket and studs now.

same turbo same setup and boost was cranked up as promised.

same Forced Performance 20G Turbo for the SR20.

this was with the seats, well perfect condition interior....now its stripped- alittle heart breaking sinced it was mint.

here is yesterday's dyno results.
same setup as before- s14 sr20det, 740 injectors, BC stg2 cams, powerFC, 20G forced performace turbo, MR manifold, Commetic HG and ARP studs, 24psi, stock head, stock bottom end.

now from the black s13 to the r32:
new extended driveshaft.

swapped out
Commetic Head Gasket,
ARP head studs.

soulja boi cranked to 24 psi
race gas
Dyno Jet

440 RWHP
430 TQ

check out the power it picked up from 4k - 4.5k
thats nearly 200 whp & TQ within 1000 RPM from 4k-5k rpm
@4500rpm it has 400 TQ , woooooo!

Sr20 R32...Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, i want to do that now. my dad lives in canada i wonder if he could get his hands on a shell..hmmm how hard was this swap?

i dont understand where u stand in this picture, do u work at tiger Japanese or u work at a shop that does their work or just a groupie?

we build race cars for customers and

we race!


yes, i work for tiger racing.

i see people always post their considerations over turbo choices, this and that. figured this would also be an option for others and hopefully they have the same luck as we do.

can you please tell me what lines did u use for the turbo....i know that the oil feed line is different, and that fp sells them....but what about the coolant lines...can u use the taka lines for the coolant?

381 on a 20G sounds about right. 25G is for big boys, seen people hit 470490whp on those on oki pump gas.

Actually those look like real deal MHI turbos. Most MHI turbos also only go for around 600-900 dollars anyways. Just google MHI dsm turbos. 16g's go for only 599 brand new for dsm's. EVO 8 16g's also only 599.00 Not everything on ebay is fake guys. Also the one on ebay is only a td05 and not a tdo6 like Forced performances turbo.
