you just take away fuel, make your correction negative
((sr)) kelly
10-23-2007, 07:25 PM
think im going to pull it down 15% across the board...prob needs about 20% taken away....
these are sorta equivalent to 550cc on a sr20det

pull 35% across the board.
It will still be rich.
Then go street racing.

and why cant you just tow it to a shop?
johngriff

Street racing thing is a joke, back in the day I use to watch kids ALL THE TIME, tune their AFC's until it "felt good", at the street races.
That probably plays a big part in all my trash talking the afc, because I have vivid memories of the sillyness that ensued.

well we are going to have to tow it i think... it runs like CRAPPPPPPPP
its useless to do anything without a wideband
johngriff

did you change the afm?
have you dropped the base Fuel Pressure down?

probably the same thing as my friend's sr20 i'm driving around at the moment. i just took to get it tuned for him. he's bone stock sr20 with an ebay gt28/71r that wouldn't even rev passed 3000 without popping. it's basically set at 0 all the way to about 2k then it goes to -7% , then -10% around 3.4, then -14% at 4k . you should be able to get to your tuner without going passed 4,000rpm, if you wanna take out even less fuel you can, his a/f are 12.0 across the map once it's making boost. hope that helped.
i think he's running an automatic sr /w a 5speed cause the tps has 6 wires on it, and that thing was running so rich you couldn't even get passed 3k, now it's good though
in all honesty man, 550's are only 50% bigger than stock, it shouldn't run THAT BAD. i drove my rb25 /w 550's to my tuner, it shot flames at 4k and only made 190/
[email protected] but that soon changed :D

we put the low impeadance 444cc in it

10-23-2007, 09:27 PM
use drop resistors?
xpl2007
10-23-2007, 09:55 PM
550cc are not 50 over stock 50 over stock 370cc are 740cc...
Leave it all at 0 and i bet you its rich!! Just dont boost...
((sr)) kelly

yeh I used a dropping resistor.... without them... the voltage wouldnt drop on the injectors to open them
johngriff
10-24-2007, 08:17 PM
mmmm.
No the injectors would work, they would just burn up quickly.
550's are 50% more fuel than stock.
To figure this out, take your new injector size and divide it by your old injector size.
Everything over 1 is the percentage of increase.
444cc = 20%
555cc = 50%
740cc = 100%
1400cc = OVER 9000!!!!

:eek3::wtf: I dont get it then whats this:: (ka)
INJECTOR SIZING EQUATION MADE BY ME, COVERTPOLARBEAR
To determine the flow correction injector percentage,
(OEM injectors/new injectors=X ::: 1-X=Y :: move decimal 2 over, and thats your percent.)
(270/370=.73 ::: 1-.73=.27 ::: 27%)
(270/440=.61 ::: 1-.61=.39 ::: 39%)
(270/500=.54 ::: 1-.54=.45 ::: 45%)
(270/550=.49 ::: 1-.49=.51 ::: 51%)
Engine fuel pressure at stock is 34 psi with vaccum hose connected
Engine fuel pressure at stock is 43 psi with vaccum hose disconnceted.

does this mean safc2 can only handle 550cc injectors max?
SAFC can only correct for + or - 50% of stock injector size. Example: SR20 comes with 370cc stock so the max for that motor is 740cc.
The safc can only correct up to 50%. This means that the max injector you could have would be double your stock injector. 270X2=540cc close to 550 this means where you need to pull alot of fuel like at idle you might be running a little rich. While a SR has 370s stock. 370X2=740cc
If you have (sr)
370/550 -1.0= 32%
370/650 -1.0= 43%
370/740 -1.0= 50% thought this was max for the wunderfull SAFC II
But i do my math and 555cc is 50% more then 370. 370ccx50%=555
My car runs great with 650cc of course i turned down the fuel to match 550-555cc. My lows are -2 all the way and highs are -16 with are like me have the 550-555cc. Im going to do another test and see how my settings go untill you tell me about the greddy i asked you if it was a good deal to get our your laptop deal let me know thanks John...
CONFUSED!!!:faint:

Just talked to Deatschwerks and they said nismo 550 injectors run at 615.. Most JDM ECUs run for nismo injectors.. I am a hair dead on on my psi at 40 making my 650 injectors 617cc.. Just for your guys info..
