Well here I am again but my question this time is how come when I start my S15 engine and my RPM is so high? it REV up to 1100 RPM even the car is warmed up and it stay so steady. Does this happen to you SR people out there?

What's the problem with it, :loco:

idle control? Did you mess around with AIVC?

How can I fix it and what's AIVC? BTW I never stepped on the gas pedal and it's still 1100 RPM all the time.

idle air control valve. Its on the intake manifold. Its a box shaped part on the intake manifold and that has a screw plastic screw on it. You should be able to see it from the top. Turn the screw to see if your idle will go up or down. Its basically a valve that lets air bypass the throttle body so air will still get into your engine even tho your not opening the throttle body with the pedal.

Turn the screw in to lower the idle, turn the screw out to increase it. I'm pretty sure its the same method for the s13 motor, so start up the car, disconnect the TPS, turn off the car, start it again and adjust the idle from the IACV screw.

if the motor is bone stock you should not have to adjust your IACVl..

i would bet the TPS is not set right.. they always getting banged around

tps could be a possible problem, i'll bet more on a vacuum leak, but hopefully adjusting your idle cures you.

Hey Izzy if I were you i'd try to find a s15 Factory Service Manual(FSM) online to download, they help out ALOT when your trying to fix things and learn about your car... I tried finding you one for you but hell if my lazy ass wants to spend 30mins searching

Vacuum leak after the MAF would cause a rough idle, increase in air, no increase in fuel.

what's the best way to detect leak in Vacuum leak? and so such other leaks on the engine?
