Awesome deal great looking motor, I'm just curious as to why you would build everything up and keep the stock rods though.

i'm just the messenger..lol
my buddy did all the work,
i think he told me that the factory KA H-beam rods are good for 350-400 horse
also, when i was boosting my KA he compared his stockers to my AMS Sportsman (eagle) rods and his were lighter. meaning less rotating mass, resulting in more power.
also, the motor/rods came out of a friend's 97 KA which was maintained VERY well, and low, low mileage. i think 94,000ish?
thx for looking!

the stock ka rods are already forged in a certain manner. they can handle quite a bit of power. ull notice in most 2.4 motors they use a much stronger rod due to the bigger displacement of a 4 cyl.
slow40
10-15-2007, 11:40 AM
exactly, they are semi forged h-beam rods

like i asked on ka-t.
well actually... just post prices for things since parting out
the heater hose line... you just run it all the way straight to the rad. hose neck?
also, i take it there is no vacuum hookups on back of intake manifold but that you are suing a vacuum block?
how much for
intake manifold, no throttle body
vacuum block and lines
fuel rail w/ FPR
exhaust gasket

I swear, i hate being in school in times like this. This is pretty much EXACTLY the set up i want all in one nice and ridiculously clean package. Not to mention the price is awesome! I'm curious though, why the sale?
Crap....i sooo want this!
Good luck with the sale man!
I'll personally keep an eye on this thread to make sure the lowballers dont get all insane. Cuz you know how they are on here....

you want the entire motor correct?
BaroidEngineer
11-08-2007, 04:13 PM
Yep, depending on price,,,, <laughing> I have one that got a bit hot, radiator blew out on a long winding country road and I had no place to pull over, long story,,, and want a replacement motor. Don't need anything else, have a new radiator coming. I have been shopping for a built unit and am looking for a fair deal. Plan is to rebuild the other one down the road.
